Today I was tasked with researching five jobs. I thought about what I wanted to do and came up with these. I thought carefully about these jobs, and I based them off of my own qualities, and what I thought I would be good at. I made sure to keep in mind how much I would enjoy them. I will now begin with the first job I researched. Please note that these are not ranked in any particular order. My first career choice was cosmetology. Cosmetology school doesn’t require a degree. Instead, it requires a cosmetic license. One of the best colleges that I found was actually Regency Beauty Institute, right here in Nashville. The degree you need to become an actual mechanic is a two-year associate’s degree. Personally, I’d prefer to attend Lincoln Automotive here, but one of the best schools in the states to earn that degree is the University of Michigan. The entry requirement to get into that school is simply your high school diploma. The typical hourly pay for a mechanic is $17.6, and they make $36,610.00 a year. Benefits include: retirement and health insurance plans, and they could possibly receive car parts for free, or at a really low cost. My third career choice actually came from an unfortunate life experience I had last year. I wanted to become a veterinarian after I had to put my cat down. I decided that I wanted to heal animals and make them feel better. To become a veterinarian, you have to get a bachelor’s degree. A really good college to obtain this degree from, is the University of California. Entry requirements are some form of doctoral degree, or a professional degree. Veterinarians make $40.61 an hour, and earn $84,460.00 yearly. Benefits are: 2-4 weeks paid vacation, paid sick leave, and medical, vision, and dental
