Learning about when and how to use commas in my writing project, I first read about commas on the Purdue Owl. According to the website, a comma splice “occurs when two independent clauses are connected with only a comma.” Also as I already said I had many mistakes and issues using verb tenses. For example, on paragraph four I wrote, “I think it is a very nice and a familiar place, and my father has many friend in Weston that can help me”. I noticed that I had many mistakes, starting with “I think” because I used in present. I corrected this sentence, I wrote “I started to explore on the internet about Weston, Florida. In my opinion Weston it’s a very nice and familiar place.”. Using this source https://owl.english.purdue.edu/owl/resource/601/01
The creation of political parties originally caused some conflict. Many people thought that they were evil. As time went on, the people warmed up to the idea, and characterizations of the Republican and Federalist parties began. The Republicans, led by Thomas Jefferson, strictly interpreted the Constitution, but eventually, they loosened their views on the interpretation of the Constitution. On the other hand, Federalists held views on a loose interpretation of the Constitution, until they realized that a more strict interpretation could be a good thing.
4. Also be careful of run-on sentences. Let your sentences contain only one or two ideas, not three or four. Do not over-use semicolons or colons, use a period instead.

Garnet story takes place during the civil war; therefore Farquhar was a white land owner with slaves. As one digs deeper and cracks the shell of this story, the attention to detail, realism, and capital punishment play a big role.
The Gatewood house was built in 1847 and owned by some of Gallipolis’s most prominent residents, including Andrew W. Allemong and Fred M. Bovie, both successful grocers. The most famous owner of the house was writer O. O. McIntyre, who was the most widely-read columnist of his time. McIntyre grew up in Gallipolis before moving to New York and writing a column about the city and its celebrities. He bought Gatewood for his wife in 1933 and spent $50,000 renovating it. The name “Gatewood” came from Mrs. McIntyre’s mother. Unfortunately, O. O. McIntyre died five years later before he could even set foot in the house.

There are two main ethical viewpoints that policy analysts view cases through. One is utilitarianism, which believes an action is morally right if it creates the greatest net happiness. 1. I don’t think there are rough spots where the sentences do not flow smoothly and clearly, and most of them seem clear to understand, especially the body paragraphs.
I am able to use correct punctuation in my writing. I am able to correctly situate an apostrophe correctly throughout my writing. This is because I have throughout my education learned how to use this punctuation correctly. Additionally, I know where colons and semi-colons are needed when writing an essay or assignment. This is also because I have learned how to correctly use this form of punctuation.
My journey began on a calm Sunday evening when I began searching for two art sculptures to observe. I walked out of the Convocation Center where I had just finished watching the Kennesaw State versus Troy volleyball game. I walked straight across the street to find The Thinking Rock sculpture sitting directly in front of me. I walked around and observed the entire piece, finding a wasp nest resting under one of the rock's ridges. I read the plaque that explained the rock is meant for you to stop and think about who you are, why you are here, and where you are going in life. I continued walking through the Campus Green where I observed colorful flowers, swaying trees, buildings I had never seen before, and students swinging in their hammocks. I stumbled upon the KSU Owl, which had three flags flying high directly behind the sculpture. I noticed the intricate details on the owl, from its sharp claws, to its beaming eyes.
My experience at Oak Park Elementary was an experience I will not forget. Oak Park is a school that has a great amount of diversity within their system. While there was a vast measure of diversity there was some similarities within the student body. Majority of the student body is the same race, with a few other that are a different ethnicity. I was in the library for my observation hours and at the beginning of my time I was first disappointed I was not assigned to a class room, but I was very grateful for my opportunity in the library. The teacher I observed was a lady that had a beautiful heart for children and passionate about her subject she taught. The students I observed ranged from various backgrounds. I attended to Mrs. Lee who is
I am not new to Purdue Owl, I refer to it several times whenever I am doing a research paper or writing an essay and have always found it to be very useful. I have never used the site map on the Purdue Owl website before, the site map showed me topics I never knew was available on Purdue Owl. Usually, I use the website to double check a source citation and in-text citation. The website was very easy to navigate, it is well organized into general section and then into a more detailed sub-section. I will be using its “outline components” to help me create my outline for my paper. I always refer to the APA citation section on the Purdue Owl website and I will be using it again to help with my research paper.

The story of my history as a writer is a very long one. My writing has come full circle. I have changed very much throughout the years, both as I grew older and as I discovered more aspects of my own personality. The growth that I see when I look back is incredible, and it all seems to revolve around my emotions. I have always been a very emotional girl who feels things keenly. All of my truly memorable writing, looking back, has come from experiences that struck a chord with my developing self. This assignment has opened my eyes, despite my initial difficulty in writing it. When I was asked to write down my earliest memory of writing, at first I drew a blank. All of a sudden, it became very clear to me, probably because it had some childhood trauma associated with it.
Some of the most essential elements of style are those that deal with commas. How to use a comma and where to place one can be quite confusing at times. With Strunk and White’s chapter 1 on Elementary Rules of Usage, they go into detail with examples for writers to better understand the usage of commas.
