Pups on a Mission PAW Patrol is an animated television program which first aired on August12, 2013 on Nickelodeon. The animated program is based on a ten-year-old boy named Ryder. Along with Ryder are eight rescue dogs. The pups’ names include the following: Marshall, Chase, Rocky, Zuma, Skye, Rubble, Tracker, and last but not least Everest. Ryder and the pups work together on missions to protect the shore side community of Adventure Bay. PAW Patrol ranked as the highest-rated, preschool animated television program, in the United States in November 2013. It held that position throughout the spring 2014 season. PAW Patrol has won many awards since then. PAW Patrol is a good children’s animated television program because it not only entertains children, but also teaches them good values such as heroism, bravery, and ecological awareness. During each episode of PAW Patrol heroism takes place. Heroism is the strength of mind to carry on in spite of danger. Heroes, similarly, are symbols for us of all the qualities we would like to process and all the ambitions we would like to satisfy. Bravery is an important feature in PAW Patrol. Similar to heroism, bravery is the quality or state of having or showing moral or mental strength. Some examples of being brave include facing fear, difficulty and danger. During season one, episode 1a, “Pups Make a Splash”, bravery takes place when Captain Turbot’s boat runs aground. During the episode, Rocky, Zuma, and Skye team up so they can save the boat before it sinks. Saving the boat was at first difficult before coming together as a team and having a plan.
