I think that bullying is wrong because it affects everyone in some way. Bullying is purposely hurting someone in someway. It has to be intentional and occur more than once. 2 out of 3 times bullying happens in school. Most of the time kids are bullied for their appearance, if they don’t look a certain way they get made fun of for it.
Bullies sometimes don’t choose just to be mean to others, there is usually a reason why they became that way. According to bullyingstatics”Children who experience academic failure are also more likely to bully others.” Sometimes having power or being the leader of a group can sometimes lead into bullying, because the indivual is use to everyone listening to them, but when one person stops obeying them, then that’s when the bullying comes into the situation. Another reason people may become bullies, because they aren’t having enough attention at home or there lonely and want attention from others. Bullying can make a victim stronger, because the harsh words can make the individual want to strive for better.
All types of bullying are dangerous to the victim. The victim starts to believe the words that come out of the bullies mouth. The victim gets down on their self and turns to drugs or other things to make them feel better. People bully for different reasons. There are cultural causes of bullying.
Girls have a tendency to indirectly bully, and boys have a tendency to physically bully other students. Bullying is a misbehavior that has to be resolved by looking at what is causing the behavior. It is not something that can be tolerated in schools, and classrooms. Bullying or aggressive behavior can be defined in many ways. The child pushes people around, may threaten other students, and can have a bad temper.
It still exists today in the form of young people getting bullied on the streets, and at school. It could be very harmful, and could lead to serious damages, but sometimes it could help by making people stand up for themselves, or it would cause more harm. First of all, how to define bullying? Parents can ruin their children’s life many ways from not giving them enough attention, punishing them the wrong way, abusive environment, friends and teachers.
Why might people be so cruel and choose to bully for their own enjoyment? It’s not funny; it’s a serious problem that it is emotionally degrading its victims. These are very inappropriate circumstances that need to be stopped before further terrible situations of bullycide and other devastating effects keep occurring. Bullying is an unwanted, aggressive behavior among school aged children that involves a real perceived power imbalance (“Bullying”). Bullying can be extremely harmful both physically and emotionally to any individual.
They then tend to mistreat teachers and children when they feel threatened. Many may think that bullying only involves the bully and the bullied ;however, the effects of bullying extend to a far greater amount of people. “The supporters, onlookers, and defenders of bullying are also affected” (Hazeldon).Witness of bullying also feel that they are in an unsafe environment. They feel fear, guilt, powerless, and are tempted to participate. When bullying continues and a school does not take action, the school develops an environment of fear and disrespect, students have difficulty learning, feel insecure, dislike school, and perceive that teachers and staff have little control and don't care about them(“What effect”).
Bullies often have an agenda that leads them to bully. A bully tries to “shame and intimidate their victims and make them feel inadequate” (Rosenthal 16). The reasoning behind this is that children often learn their habits from parents if they use aggressive language or have an aggressive behavior. Often children do not have a mother or father figure to guide them or teach them how to behave properly and this affects them in the long run. More bullies than non-bullies live without two biological parents; some live with extended family or foster families.
