Each season has specific flavors that embody that time of year. Ripe, juicy berries and watermelon remind us of hot summer days. Peppermint is reminiscent of the cold, brisk winter air, and gingerbread brings us memories of warm evenings spent with family and friends. Pastel-colored candies and deviled eggs take us back to Easter celebrations in the midst of spring. And when fall arrives, there is one flavor that always comes to mind: pumpkin.

Every coffee addict knows, the day just does not begin until one’s mouth has had a taste of that glorious, roasted brew. Now, whether one likes a venti iced skinny hazelnut macchiato, sugar-free syrup, extra ice, no whip, the father, the son, and the holy spirit, or simply a cup of Americano, dark; the general consensus is that the combinations are virtually unlimited and the cafes are a plenty. However, coffee lovers beware of the hype; Starbucks may seem the prominent choice for a morning cup of joe but when it comes down to it, Dutch Bros. is the only way to go.
Geoff Herzog is the product manager for coffee development at Kraft Foods Canada. After reviewing successful results of single-serve coffee pod systems, he wondered whether it would be successful in other areas. It was July 6, 2004, and Herzog had just learned that Kraft Foods North America was planning an aggressive launch of coffee pods in the United States. He then had only a month to decide whether or not the company should proceed with a simultaneous launch in Canada, or await the U.S. results.
It was hard for me to figure out what the theme is for the short story “Pumpkin Head” written by Joyce Carol Oats. For the most part, I found myself wondering what was going to happen the whole time I was reading, which leaves me to think that one of the themes of this short story could be wonder or questioning. There was a lot of wonder, about Anton Kruppev since, as a reader, and even for Hadley, we were continuously trying to figure out what this mans intentions are. There was also some wonder about Hadley. For example, what exactly happened to Hadley’s husband, what does Hadley do? In a way, as the reader I was sort of wondering what her intents were as well, although, my wonder was mainly on Anton Kruppev. What goes along

Thanksgiving Compare and Contrast Food, Family, and Fun!! Thanksgiving is a national holiday in the United States, always celebrated on a Thursday in November. There are many different ways people celebrate Thanksgiving. You give thanks and celebrate what you are most thankful for. Thanksgiving is a national holiday that has many different traditions, activities, and foods in different families.
The table can be filled with many different types of foods, and it differs from family to family. However, there are some foods that are seen at almost every Thanksgiving table. First off, the turkey, it is the most important part of the celebration for most families in the United States. There are multiple reasons to why the turkey has become such a big part of Thanksgiving. For example, a colonist named William Bradford wrote in his journals that colonists hunted wild turkeys during autumn of 1621, which is named as the first Thanksgiving. Another reason to why the turkey is an important part of the holiday is because the birds are big and can feed a lot of people compared to other birds such as chickens (Trex, 2008). Although the turkey is the most important food on the table for most families, it is common for most families to also serve some sort of sweet potatoes, for example, a sweet potato casserole with marshmallows. As Thanksgiving is a feast holiday a dessert is usually also served, one of the most common desserts on Thanksgiving is a pumpkin pie. The pumpkin has been around for hundreds of years, and always been a part of thanksgiving, however, it is more likely that the pumpkin was served after being baked or stewed rather than a pie on the first years when Thanksgiving were celebrated (Trex, 2008). As it is a feast holiday the table has many more types of foods, but it varies from family to family what is put onto the table, however, the turkey, sweet potatoes, and the pumpkin pie is almost always found at every Thanksgiving

Fall and winter both start to change temperatures and it begins to get a lot colder. Fall is better than winter and spring because in the winter you get runny noses and in the spring the pollen would stop up your nose. Fall is better than any other season because you can go squirrel hunting and deer hunting. Fall is the best season because of Thanksgiving too. Family’s get to get together and eat turkey and dressing. There are football games outside and the temperature is just right so your hands will not fall off.

Through conquest and exploration, apples were spread when Romans conquered England and when Spaniards brought them to Mexico and South America. It wasn’t until the mid 1600’s that the Pilgrims cultivated them in Massachusetts. It is believed that John Endecott, an early governor, was the first to bring an apple tree to North America, and the first orchard was planted on Beacon Hill by a clergyman named William Blaxton. It is Blaxton who is credited for growing the first named apple, the Yellow Sweeting. Once apples were established in New England, they played an active role in everyday life. As a fruit which was easily stored through the winter, as well as being very beneficial to settlers’ health, apples were a main staple in early settlers’ diets. Despite the fact that apples were not initially from North America, and have been growing disease-free for centuries in their native habitats, the early settlers found that the long, hot summers and cold winters of New England grew apples unlike anywhere else in the world. New England apples are known not only for their unique blend of tart and sweet flavors, but also for their size and freshness.
