Another thing that I observed and recorded with an a frequency count was Jamie doing several work sheets. One of theses worksheets was a math specifically counting and the other worked on identifying objects that started with the letter R. After the teacher gave instructions on both the papers Jamie started to work on her worksheets. With in the time it took her to finish these worksheets (less then 15 minute) Jamie ask on of the adults if she was doing the work correctly about seven times. The administrator and myself entered the classroom after the warm-up. We observed the lesson using a form that recaps the five standards of the McRel Evaluation Tool. I began by simply recording what I was observing in the classroom. For example, I took notes on the activity, the explanations to the students, and the transitions from one activity to another. In addition, I observed the classroom environment, the set-up of the room, the visuals, decorations, and the procedures that were established in the classroom. I found this to be an effective way to make something rather repetitive entertaining for the students. The three classes I observed were all very different, from PE to 5th grade and finally to 2nd grade I was able to see a good range of teaching styles and student obedience. In PE it is more important that the class continues, then that every student in listening. Whereas in 5th grade where most of my observation was spent going over math tests it is more important that every student understands then the class run uninterrupted. In addition, during my observation even if this was my first day, I observed the different levels of intelligence of the students based on how they answer the question and how they react in the discussion.
