Now that the causes and effects of global warming are known, there can be strategies done to minimize its causes and effects. To achieve this countries and individuals have to work together to fight global warming, agreements made at the Kyoto Protocol is to minimize burning of fossil fuels in world leading countries of greenhouse gas emission including the United States and China. The earth?s atmosphere is made up of gases, carbon dioxide, methane, water vapor and nitrogen, these gases are known as the greenhouse gases, they trap heat from the sun to warm the earth. Without them the earth would be so cold. Most scientists believe that the sharp increase of greenhouse gases released into ... ... middle of paper ... ...more trees to replace the fallen trees.
Carbon dioxide, water vapor, methane and nitrous oxide are the most common greenhouse gasses. Greenhouse gases cause the radiant heat of the sun to be trapped in the Earths lower atmosphere which causes global warming. If there weren’t any greenhouse gasses, the earth would be really cold due to very little sun rays being absorbed on the earth. Global warming can and will lead to several problems that affect the environment in which we humans live in. These problems can lead to warmer temperatures all around the world, it can endanger animals and the wildlife, and it can lead to widespread flooding from the glaciers melting.
It is mainly caused by the release of greenhouse gases and deforestation is also contributing to the warming of our earth. Global warming is already starting to kick in, crops are beginning to dry out and weather patterns are changing, while global warming could also cause many people and big companies to struggle financially. People should be made aware of this problem and we should try avoid using fossil fuels.
On top of the warming due to greenhouse gases, there are also holes in our O-Zone layer, which blocks out over 90% of the UV rays, and also the weakening of our atmosphere. What is global warming? Usually when people think of Global warming, it's the normal Ice Caps melting and warm winters, which is partly true. Global Warming is the accelerated rate in the increase of temperature. But they are ignorant to the fact that Global warming can and will cause so much more damage to us soon in the future, along with these effects we will also face Food Shortages from the extreme weathers, heating that can actually damage you, and water contamination.
The neglect humans have shown Earth is due to the common mindset of "If I do this one factor, it isn't going to impact the world in a huge way". Here's one main cause for global-warming: when humans began massive deforestations they release carbon dioxide into the atmosphere by burning an unprecedented amount of coal, gas, and oil. The over usage of carbon influenced the increase in temperature. Consequently, the glaciers in the Antarctic are beginning to melt rapidly because of the greenhouse gases build up in the atmosphere. As the gases thicken, radiation is absorbed and reflected back into our atmosphere, which makes increases the overall temperature.
The world needs to address the potentially disastrous consequences of our earth’s rapidly changing climate by acknowledging the existence of global warming and understanding its impact on the present and future generations. The greenhouse effect is a natural process that keeps the earth at temperatures that are livable. Energy from the sun warms the earth when its heat rays are absorbed by greenhouse gasses and become trapped in the atmosphere. Some of the most common greenhouse gasses are water vapor, carbon dioxide, and methane. If there were no greenhouse gasses, very few rays would be absorbed and the earth would be extremely cold.
These gases are also known as greenhouse gases because they trap the heat inside the Earth and speed up global warming. Methane and Chlorofluorocarbon are the most harmful to Earth as they damage the ozone layer and speed up global warming very efficiently. Carbon Dioxide is not that harmful as plants have the ability to get rid of it and is necessary to life on Earth. But, excess amounts of it can engage the greenhouse effect and speed up global warming. To this date there are 720 gigatons of carbon in the atmosphere.
The greenhouse effect and global warming should be taken more serious by many people. Humans cause this problem. Humans can also stop this problem. If humans keep increasing the heat in earth’s atmosphere, there may not be an Earth. Humans should stop doing all these things that make the earth heat up and start doing more to cool off the earth.
Should the polar ice caps melt, this would not only wash out many different ecosystems from the excess water on land, but it would also release a great deal of Carbon Dioxide into the atmosphere that had been trapped in the ice caps. This would again raise Carbon Dioxide levels in the atmosphere and cause the temperature to rise, displaying a positive feedba... ... middle of paper ... ... from the process of separating the plastic from the plant, researchers realized that this process may not be the answer to end global warming. There is no simple way to stop the problem of global warming. There are preventative measures that society can take against more global warming, such as carpooling, not cutting down the tropical rain forests, not using aerosol can products, etc. However, the population of today must and has begun to take special consideration for this problem in order to sustain the Earth's environment for generations to come.
Global Warming Abstract The world's scientific experts agree that industrial and land use activities are having an adverse impact on our climate. Burning of fossil fuels such as coal, oil, and gasoline creates global warming pollution that acts as the glass in a greenhouse, reflecting heat back toward the Earth and warming our climate. If we do not take steps now to reduce our emissions of global warming pollution, we will suffer serious environmental, public health, and economic repercussions. We owe it to our next generations to leave them a healthy environment and economy. Industries must start reducing their emissions of global warming pollution before we seal the fate of future generations.
