School uniforms are a boiling conversation point these days. There are so many well-built points of view about what route parents, students, and superintendents wish to go in. It has been disputed that school uniforms have the potential to make a school safer, that uniforms reduce harassment or self-esteem issues, and that uniforms return the focus to the students' learning. I disagree. I, in fact think that school uniforms do not help make our schools a more secure place, I think that they do not revisit the center of attention to student's education - they just shifted where the attention was previous, and that they won’t help cut down on harassment or self- esteem issues in school.
Finally, kids should be able to show their personality and what kind of person they are. So this is why kids don’t want to wear school uniforms. Also the kids want the uniforms to go away and not see them any more. So kids don’t like uniforms and they won’t there friends to know what kind of person you are.
Wearing uniforms will constrain the student from expressing their creativity through clothing: as a result, stripping away individuality. Since school is for learning, the system should not push the effort into student’s uniforms because it is not an educational goal. To begin with, students should have the freedom to choose their own clothing. The schools systems should use a dress code, since this will not completely suppress one’s creativity. This plan gives students a chance to express their imagination and personality through their own clothing.
Those who take those positions do not realize that enforcing school uniforms can make a difference. For instance, those who do not abide by the school's guidelines will suffer the consequence and, therefore, can set an example for other people. Therefore, this will eliminate discipline problems. Furthermore, those who take the position that school uniforms suppress individuality do not realize that school uniforms will teach students that individuality and self-expression are not determined by designer clothing. Moreover, as for the expenses it will be no different from the expense parents pay for their children necessities.
The students cannot develop the self-expression that is crucial to their development at this age. Uniforms are thought to create a more protected campus and learning environment, however, if someone wants to bully someone else, clothes are not going to stop them. The cost, which is usually seen as a pro, can actually be more than people anticipate. As one can see, in the best interest of any student, school uniforms should not be made part of the dress code. The first major reason for not wearing school uniforms is, it forces a student to conceal his or her individuality.
Proposal for a Uniform Dress Code Pickerington School District should require students to have a uniform dress code. The current dress code policy is very minimal and is not adhered to by the students. Faculty overlook the students who don’t abide by the current dress code as it would take away from their teaching time. One of the main concerns that is brought up when the topic of school uniforms is discussed is freedom of expression. Many people worry that not allowing children to wear certain clothing will “stifle their creativity” (p. ) or restrict their First Amendment rights (Nevada, 2008).
This situation creates conflict between students. In order to avoid this unacceptable environment, school uniform should be worn in public schools because they reduce social boundaries between students. For instance, when students all wear uniforms, there is no obligation to wear expensive dress for those who cannot afford that or buy. Everyone is dressing alike. No student would be considered special simply because of the way he or she dressed.
They feel that if they wear school uniforms it will limit some students self expression, on how they should come to school dressed, hair did and other things that 's involved with fashion in todays society, and may try to stop them from using their own unique style to wear what the want to school. In the article "Pros and Cons of school uniforms "We find that not having uniforms creates an environment where they 're comfortable in their own skin." and expression how they feel with the type of clothes they wear (Johne)." Students may feel that they should have the right to wear what they want to school and not be picked on or called names. Many parents may argue that students should be able to express themselves through their clothing, but not in an inappropriate way to where they get suspended from school because their showing to much or bullied because they don 't have something nice on.
It is because the school teacher or principal don't know what the students like or what style do the students want to wear. Every students have their own style and their won't have the same idea as the other students. So the school cannot make a uniform to content all the students. And the other things is the students will think wear the school uniform was so dumb and stupid, and they think that the people in outside will laugh at them or make fun on them. Third, the students want to be free, they want to have all the freedom.
Not only will there still be violence in the school but there will still be violence after school. So if schools are trying to get rid of violence they still aren’t getting rid of violence. If there are no school uniforms in a school then a strict dress code should be enforced, in order to have a worthy learning environment. I don’t think school uniforms should be enforced, because they don’t stop they negative things that they want to stop happening in schools. In order to stop these negative things they need to find other ways to provide a healthy school environment.
