The GatesburgGoGreen Initiative is a bad idea and may cost tax payers more money if not done correctly. Adding an extra bin for recyclables will add more confusion on what goes where. Like its said in the No Recycling Laws for Gatesburg "Coffee grounds go in the green bin, but what about a plastic container of yogurt that has gone out of date?" Not only will this extra bin cause confusion, but also has some privacy issues. Chips are attacthed to each bin to track the weight of the bins. This is to see how much trash we discard versus how much is recycled. Now when your bin looks a little heavy the trash police check it to make sure you're putting things where they belong. You'll probably receive a fine if they think something is out

In December 1965, a group of students from Des Moines, Iowa met at Christopher Eckhardt’s home in order to plan a protest. During the meeting, the students planned to wear black armbands throughout the holiday season to show public support for a truce in the Vietnam War. However, the principal of the school got word of the planned protest and quickly established a policy that stated any student wearing an armband would be asked to remove it. If they refused to do so, it would result in suspension. On December 16, 1965, the protest began and students Mary Beth Tinker and Christopher Eckhardt wore their armbands to school and were sent home. The Laramie Project Critique * No Works Cited The Laramie project captured the audience's attention by utilizing different design methods on stage. This included sound, stage and hand properties, light, and music. With an ensemble of 10 actors playing over 30 roles, this proved to be an amazing play to experience. The playwright was constructed in a clear manner, which eliminated the confusion of "who is who." Through the usage of the stage elements as well as the dynamics of each character, this brought about an effective plot.
The Laramie Project, written by Moisés Kaufman, is a compilation of interviews by The Tectonic Theater Project, news publications, and journal entries. After the brutal murder of Mathew Sheppard in 1998. Kaufman along with his theater troupe made six visits to Laramie, Wyoming, where the murder took place, to interview people about what happened and how they felt about the crime in their community. They interviewed about two hundred people, of which about sixty were included in the play. The play showcases a small town in America in a historical time of tragedy. The production of The Laramie Project was simple. The stage setting was minimal and the the actors consisted of eight people portraying more than sixty. Through the patchwork of interviews The Laramie Project conveys the themes of identity, representation, and change.
Community based programs are alternative options available to juveniles, instead of incarceration that safely serves juveniles and give juveniles a second chance to become productive members of society. Community based programs aim to efficiently rehabilitate and prevent juvenile delinquency and reduce deviant behavior in juveniles (Alarid & Del Carmen, 2012).
The DREAM Act is an Act that targets children under the age of fifteen who have lived in the Unites States for at least five years since the Act was made to receive higher education. This Act allows these children to receive temporary legal status and go through a rigorous process to eventually become fully legal in the United States. The DREAM Act allows these individuals to go to college or join the military if they please. In order to receive full legal status these individuals must have either served our country for two years or graduated a two year college or at least studied for two years working towards a bachelors degree. This Act allows these children who are faced against the odds of having a dead end job to do something great
California is one of the largest states in the country and has one of the biggest state budgets, but in the past several years, its school system has become one of the worst in the nation because of enormous budget cuts in efforts to balance the state’s enormous deficit. The economic downturn at the end of the 2000s resulted in even more cuts to education. It is in environments like this one in which students from poor backgrounds become most vulnerable because of their lack of access to support in their homes as well as other programs outside of schools. Their already financially restricted school districts have no choice but to cut supplementary programs and increase class sizes among other negative changes to public schools. The lack of financial support from the state level as well as demands for schools to meet certain testing benchmarks by the state results in a system in which the schools are no longer able to focus on students as individuals; they are forced to treat students as numbers rather than on an individual case by case basis. An article from the Los Angeles Times showed that majority of Californians give California schools “a grade of C or below” and half think that the quality of schools will continue to decline (Watanabe).While the economic downturn affected the public school system in a negative way, it was not the sole root of its problems. It just simply exacerbated already existing issues.

The No Child Left Behind Act reauthorized the Elementary and Secondary Education Act which was initially created by Former United States President Lyndon B. Johnson as part of the War on Poverty. In attempt to revise the Elementary and Secondary Education Act, Former President George W. Bush executed several amendments to the policy which received a backlash of conflicting viewpoints. Solid waste pickup services will exist, preventing litter and garbage accumulations. Large fines will be issued if improper garbage and recycling activities are noticed and reported. Almost everything will be recyclable and taken to nearby cities to their recycling plants. Garbage will also be sent out to a nearby dump.
If everyone recycled think of how much more space there would be in landfills across the world. There is only so much room on this earth and we are using a huge portion of it for our trash. Clearlake, California alone on a busy day can bring in 80,000 pounds of trash to the local dump. I know this because I work at the local dump in Mckinleyville. I also see a lot of people that throw away their recycling for the simple reason of being too lazy to sort it. I watch bag after of bag of plastic, aluminum, and glass get thrown into the bin which we haul straight to a landfill in Anderson, California. If everyone in Mckinleyville recycled there plastic, aluminum and glass they could save thousands of pounds a day from going to the landfill. I think people are not informed that waste is a big problem in this world. But in fact conservation is an issue, and resources and energy aren't too plentiful. Someday these resources are going to run out. But the more we recycle the longer we can make these resources last.
I think recyling is a great idea! I't lets us re-use water bottles, paper, etc. I't cuts cost down, meaning as if we recycle our plastics, papers, wood, etc then hopefully in the future the prices for water bottles, soda , and paper won't cost as much as it does today. There are ways to recycle every product that is in your house. If you have an expired yogurt container, then you should empty the yogurt into the trash and put the empty container into the recycle bin.
How often do you recycle? Are you willing to take extreme measures to reduce the amount of waste to save your landfill? If so, you are going to be working twice as hard in order to do so! Although, recycling is a great idea, it is also, in my opinion, ridiculous to take recyling to extreme measures. Privacy is a concern for some people, so having surveillance cameras is taking things out of hand! Having the police show up at your house for accidentaly throwing away a banana peel into the wrong recycling bin is obsurd! Nobody should have to be fined for throwing away a piece of trash in the wrong waste container!
