When I see soldiers on television or in a parade, I am reminded of the most difficult but worthy cause they have fought for again and again over all of these years; the freedom, liberty, and life of all the people in America today. I am reminded that the purpose of war is to protect the ideals and beliefs of the fighting country, and in our case, to protect our vital freedom. All wars fought by the United States, from the Revolutionary to Desert Storm, and Operation Iraqi Freedom, have been for that glorious ideal. The Revolutionary War gave the boost to start the budding superpower we are today, and throw off the oppression of Britain. The Civil War protected the union and the freedom of all people with its outcome, and America was reunited once again. World War I, World War II, and all the following wars were not to protect our own freedom, but to generously give the most valuable gift, the gift of freedom to other nations.

These men also provided us with the fundamentals for our Republic and led the way to our independence from Great Britain. They committed their lives to the advancement of our nation and fought for the rights of the people. Therefore, the founding fathers should be valued for their dedication to our country and deserve a distinction of honor and reverence in today’s society.

It is not always easy to stand up against something that has already been decided and many have already accepted it without question. It goes to show that everyone has a role in war times, and the actions of an individual can make a difference.

Farmers after the Revolutionary War began protesting about many things that the government were doing wrong. They used methods that were violent that were useful and others that were not. Although many people think that the farmers were rebels, nevertheless there is more evidence that they were heroes because they stood up for what was right, tried to speak up, and kept the government aware of their mistakes and wrongdoings.

Freedom was not an easy task for America. It all started with a dream, which was to gain freedom. You may think that we got our freedom from the American Revolution and we have had it ever since then, but we also gained freedom in the civil war, which was a very long while after the American Revolution. The American Revolution tested how much citizens of our country wanted independence and we did not stop fighting, no matter what; certainly, we were determined to get what we wanted. The civil war was a completely different scenario for fighting for freedom; nevertheless, we fought the civil war to bring about “a new birth of freedom for America”. Our veterans did a service for us that is incomparable to any other.

First if we didn't win the Revolutionary War we wouldn't have freedom of choice. Also, if the veterans lost the war we would be speaking another language for example,British, not English. Many people lost their lives in the war and passed away in honor even before they experienced the freedoms they were fighting for.
