The loose term social media can range from websites like Facebook and Tumblr to Twitter and Instagram, as well as everything in between. The main question in hand about the paper is, ‘Should social media be allowed or banned in the work place?’ Through two articles and one journal, one will be able to evaluate and answer for themselves the situationally biased question. The initial difference is that Smith takes and analyzes data from studies and from words of a professor. On the other hand, Curran, Draus, Schrager, and Zappala find their information through research, which was not from a large name company. What makes this article less reliable is how the formatting of the article is setup, every so often it has a break that wants you to click on a link to go to another article, which some have really no relation to the one in question other than technology. Within the article, Bednarz speaks about how social media can improve the company’s ratings and other beneficial factors, such as commercials and marketing. There are specific guides that company’s need to adhere by, guides of which were created by the government (Bednarz, 2011). One positive to Bednarz’s article is their use of statistical information throughout their article. The information was used to support and back up the different claims on social media in a workplace environment. After going through and rereading and analyzing the articles and journal, it is easy to see how they compare and contrast, be it from credibility or information. All three used some sort of surveyed analysis or statistical information to support their claims on the topic of social media in the
