CAN DIET SODA MAKE YOU GAIN BELLY FAT? Every health and fitness conscious person has often wondered about this question right here. Would it be possible to keep your belly fat down even while still taking soda, in this case diet soda? Many studies and researches have been channeled towards that direction and different inferences have been made. It is a well known fact that both diet soda and regular soda are bad for the health either ways and they both have differences in their pros and cons. Some studies have shown that consuming diet soda frequently despite its zero calories may eventually cause you to gain weight in all areas of the body. Although diet soda might appear as a perfect substitute for regular soda because it has zero calories, it really isn’t all that perfect. A lot of artificial chemicals and sweeteners are being used in producing Diet soda. These artificial sweeteners have become widely accepted as a substitute for sugar because of their lower calorie count. A teaspoon of sugar contains 16 calories while a tablespoon which is equivalent of three teaspoons contains about 48 calories.
