Here at Knight Lite, commitment to long term operations is of great importance. Taking pride in a growing customer database and knowing how well business has flourished are two key factors in determining how current operations are beginning to show age and are no longer fit for the company. Technically, the current in-house systems are running Windows 2000 Pro and are centrally connected to server, with a Small Business Server 2003 configuration. A migration to newer operating systems highly recommended in order to achieve optimal work performance, with all terminals upgrading to Windows 7 Enterprise and the server over hauled to Small Business Server Standard Edition 2011.

Knight Lite provides first class, 24 hour concierge service. As of today, Knight Lite has an operating staff of fifteen employees; each issued a laptop and cellular phone. Each employee needs to be able to have secure access to database at all times and current software is limiting productivity. These two devices require their own Client Access License, which translates to possible forty-five future workstations, be it either a laptop or similar mobile device. Client Access Licenses (CALs) are licenses for access to the server software. SBS 2011 Standard comes with five CALs, which give you the right to have five devices or users access the server software. The current work staff has not increased for over 3 years, and SBS 2011 will allow greater functionality while providing to the necessary expansion possibilities if Knight Lite continues to increase its production.
