CO2 emissions are a massive problem in today’s society and a large contributor to global warming (KLIESCH, 3). Road traffic is one of the largest contributions to CO2 emissions, and with the use of gas powered vehicles becoming more and more popular, the problem is only getting worse (Devos, 2). The solution to this problem is electric vehicles. Electric vehicles use electric powered motors to move the wheels using battery power instead of an engine that combusts gasoline, using the combustion to move a piston that rotates an axel which in turn rotates the wheels. Because of this, electric vehicles produce no CO2 emissions, excluding any from where the electricity was generated, which is zero if the electricity is produced from things like solar panels, wind turbines, water turbines or biogas engines, which run off of the sun, the wind, water and plant based material, respectively. We should increase government funding for electric vehicle research, as better technology will reduce CO2 emissions, reduce oil dependency, decrease driving costs and make them cheaper to buy. CO2 emission...
