Prom, the one event you look forward to the most besides graduation when you’re a senior in high school. Prom happens on the first Saturday in May, of every year for juniors and seniors who attend South Christian High School. This year’s prom was special to me because it was better than last year and it meant a lot to me. It was special to me because it was my last high school prom and it was the first time I got a yes to prom. I wanted to put behind the rejection that I had last year, I never really got to explain the reason for asking that certain girl last year (2014) and I believe she misunderstood the way I was asking her to prom a bit. My junior year prom I asked a girl that I had a crush on out to prom, but I just wanted to go as …show more content…
The first of week May is known as prom week to all the juniors and seniors who attend South Christian High School. Prom week was a week that a lot of juniors and especially seniors look forward to at the beginning of the school. It has always been a tradition that the juniors plan everything for prom, except the location of prom which was picked by the head principal. At the start of that particular week I was very anxious as I still had not had a date to prom. I did have my eye set on a special someone though, but just the thought of asking that special someone to prom just escalated my anxiousness even further. My anxiousness increased each individual day that I decided to put it off. As my anxiousness increased, so did the signs on the outside, it got to the point where some of my friends confronted me after school about …show more content…
I thought that I messed up yesterday and I was starting to have an argument inside my own head. But I wanted to know for sure if I messed up or if I said something wrong so I ask her, “Did I say something wrong to provoke you?” She laughed at my question, which made me think that I actually did mess up. My thought process was then interrupted by her stating, “No you did not say anything wrong. Since this is going to be my only prom that I go to, and since it is senior year my friends and I decided to go prom without dates. Don’t worry, a lot of them had people ask them to prom as well, but they rejected the requests. They rejected requests because they wanted to prom as friend group so I decided to join in as well.” “Ok good, because I thought I said something wrong or might’ve messed up,” I responded while
I understand why the principal would cancel prom. But at the same time I believe the school should still have a prom. Proms are usually when student get together and have fun. Teenager love enjoys fun events, which makes them a lot happier. Prom involves music dancing and food all together. It can also be a social event when friend can get together, young couples can get together. This school event can also bring memories to teenagers, and as they grow older many of them will see it as one of the best times of their
Prom is coming up and the students attending Collège Françoise Dupont junior high school in Paris, France is preparing for it.
With prom weekend just ending, graduation was the next event to look forward to, and the class of 2015 were ready to check out of Cypress Falls High School. The loss of motivation was common as the end of our high school careers were approaching slower than ever. The feeling of excitement and anticipation were running through every soon to be graduate’s heads except for mine. I felt stress, anxiety, and worried. Why? Well I wasn’t one hundred percent positive that I was going to walk across that stage, which led me to go talk to my counselor. As I walk into the office, Ms. Boutte, my counselor is having a conversation with another counselor. She looked intimidating but spoke very softly. Hearing her voice gave me a sense of comfort. As their conversation comes to an end she states,
Prom, the highlight of every teen’s high school years. Prom is the most anticipated school event, yet a question has arisen about the topic, should prom be banned? Prom may be questionable, prom shouldn’t be banned because Prom is just a dance that has been the same for years, banning won’t stop anything, and is a ritual for most high school students. Why is it that the thought of banning prom is only now coming up?
She knew that I was disappointed that I didn’t make varsity. She was just trying to motivate me, but at the time it seemed like she didn’t want me to enjoy my spring break.
Every senior cannot wait until homecoming week. A week of reminiscing over the past homecomings, visualizing the growth over the years, and a week of activities for the last time. Being that I won homecoming princess my junior year, I was confident I would be nominated. I came to the conclusion the way the year started off, my winning days were over. The first day of homecoming week, everyone had to nominate four girls to represent their graduation class. Rumor was, there were a group of girls that crossed my name out. “Why are they doing this to me?” I cried to my best friend, as she wiped my tears off my face with her t-shirt. Knowing that this was just the beginning, I realized it was going to be more times like this. The next day a senior meeting was called. Knowing that I would be in the same room with the girls, and on top of that people who they influenced, made me not even want to go. Sitting on the bleachers at the meeting, ice was thrown at me constantly. I was so frightening I
“Whoa. I did nothing,” I said, trying to hide the panic from my voice. “Just let me go. Please,” I said.
“Yeah, he didn’t have much to say when Grandma told the proposal story,” I said.
“Wait…don’t dismiss what I am going to tell you next, hear me out.” Intrigued, I decided to wait just a little longer and give him a chance to correct himself.
When I was first entering high school as a 9th grader I didn’t get to choose my classes, so I ended up with all normal classes and a dance class. When I saw that dance was on my schedule I immediately didn’t want to go, good thing we didn’t do anything on the first day of school in that class. On the second day of school there was a placement test for the kids who didn’t take one in 8th grade, a.k.a. me, I was hoping that all my regular classes changed and maybe dance too, it was a big inconvenience to me. After the test I went to lunch, then, lucky me, dance. The second day we didn’t do anything at all, I officially declared that the class was boring. Day three my regular classes got changed to advanced, but my schedule didn’t really change, I still had dance. Day four hit me upside the head,

It was my first week of my freshman year in college. Normally, you want to survive the first week by going to school events and meeting new people. Being the first Saturday night of the school year my new friend and I decided to go to a party in another dorm on campus. Both of us didn’t know what to expect at a college party, so we dressed up and tried to look our best. As I put my black mascara on I knew that this would be a fun night. My friend Jessica knew one of the guys that would be at this gathering because he lived in the same town that she was from. Finally, we leave our dorms and head out to our first college party. We arrived at the party and started to play cards. As the night progressed, poker was getting a little boring and staying in that dorm room wasn’t too much fun either. Abruptly, one of the guys said we should go to a freshman dorm. Everyone grabbed their belongings and headed to central campus. As we walked to central campus many of the boys were whispering about how they were going to cause a ruckus. No one was a resident of this hall, so we had to ask someone who was outside to let us in.
Throughout high school I hadn’t seen all the work that went into homecoming, I just knew it looked great. The night before homecoming I passed the cafeteria on the way to our football game to see that there weren’t any decorations. I went in to see what was going on and I found out that this year there wasn’t a homecoming committee. I then went to the teacher who usually handles those kinds of things to find out what happened. She told me that she would not be setting up this year and decorations would be left to us. Prior to that day, she hadn’t told anyone that help was needed. Knowing this was my last homecoming and something that everyone was looking forward to I had to do something. I returned to help blow up balloons and to put up the
High school years are supposed to be a time for fun and exciting events in every adolescent's life. There are parties, ball games, and local after school hangout joints where we can meet. All combined to making high school the most memorable years of any teenage girl?s life. However, my experience in high school took an uneventful turn in tenth grade. My carefree ways had to end and a new wave of responsibility was presented to me. I found out that I was two months pregnant. My thoughts tugged at my conscience, how was I to tell the father of my unborn child? Would my mother support my decision? I had to forget about my partying ways and hanging with my friends. My freedom days of coming and going were about to be over and I quickly became the girl about whom everyone was talking.
more days till prom, I started to stress out I was worried that I wouldn't have all that I
