Charles Barkley a former star basketball player, said this during a press conference interview after a game, and after the interview took place this went worldwide! The future generation is needing someone to look up to now more than ever,so they turn to professional athletes on how to act. Too many people are saying that professional athletes are not good role models for todays young generation. News shows such as: NBC,FOX,CBS,Today…etc, are only reporting the unsatisfactory things that athletes are doing just to benefit themselves and to demolish the athlete. News Channels report things such as alcoholism, DUIs, sexual abuse, substance abuse, gambling and now even murder (Mendes). While some bad apples ruin the whole crop, it just puts an amateurish name for all of the athletes. Some are actually trying to give back to the community.
