Pro Choice: The Pros And Cons Of Abortion

In the state of New York, abortion laws are less restrictive than some other state abortion laws. Some of the illegal portion of the abortion laws are (1) if pregnancy is not less than 24 weeks, and you get an abortion, (2) if abortion causes mother to die, (3) if the mother is taking any kind of drugs that would result in a miscarriage. Many people feel as if as soon as a woman is pregnant, that would mean that that fetus has a life and abortion shouldn 't happen because it 's murder. Most abortion are done by surgery but, all abortions stop the developing fetuses heart. Which to pro-life supporters, this is considered to be murder.

Abortion is a big issue for women and it should be made legal in all countries because legalized abortion prevents illegal unsafe abortions, child abusive crime and health problems like depression, trauma and shock. Legalized abortion law prevents the unsafe abortions. Anti choice groups people think that killing the unwanted child should be against the law and it is a murder but they mistaken the point that the women who decides to give up the child will abort in anyway either safe or unsafe. “About 40% of women who have a clandestine abortion experience complications that require treatment” (Cohen, Facts and consequences). Women who decide to have an illegal abortion get their life on the risk.

Pathos is the one of the most that the author use to describe the article. Thus, even if the child dies, the treatment is still fully justified” (Brown). Thus, Dr. Alan says; “Today it is possible for almost any patient to be brought through pregnancy alive, unless she suffer from a fatal illness such as cancer or leukemia, and if so, abortion would be unlikely to prolong, much less save life”. In others words, for some reason some women choose to abort because if born there child may be disabled, but this is not an excuse for abortion.

Although the outcome of this court case has positively impacted the women of our country, this policy should be taken a step further. American women would live in a much safer society if legislation with pro-choice components because illegal abortions would be prevented. As a result, women would not risk their lives by receiving the procedure from unreliable sources. Therefore, fewer women would die from abortions because they would receive the proper medical attention that they need.

With this, a lot of women will risk their health and life doing so. With abortion clinics still available, women who do choose to have an abortion will at least do it in a safe and clean way. A woman should not have to put her life in danger in order to receive and abortion. With local abortion clinics closed demand will stay the same but availability will be rapidly decreased. Thus women will have to wait longer to receive an abortion and get treated later in her pregnancy.

Women may consent to un-protected sex because if they become pregnant they figure they can always just go get an abortion. Pro-life supporters believe that abortions are a simple way out of a very complicated problem. However, the illegalization of abortion may bring on many consequences. If someone falls victim of rape and becomes pregnant it is not fair to make them keep the child. The mother would of course love the child, but with that would come a form of hate.

Women were finding any way possible to be rid of babies they didn’t want. It wasn’t until later years in the case of Roe vs. Wade that abortion was again allowed. The Supreme Court in 1973, in the case of Roe v. Wade, declared most existing state abortion laws unconstitutional.

The violence, which occurs today because of the pro-choice/pro-life conflicts is minimal in comparison to the thousands of hopeless women who turned to illegal abortions--either self-inflicted or preformed by the backroom "professionals"-- which resulted in infection, massive blood loss, and death. It is now since the abortion is legal better for women, because they have a place to go to where abortions can be performed in a clean environment and with minimum risks. The legalization of abortion is the only choice, no matter what side one takes in the debate. Women will try to do what they think is necessary to live as they wish, no matter what the risks are. In order to live as she chooses a woman may give up her freedom, her morals, her beliefs, her family, or even her life.

I believe that abortion should be illegal because it is equal to murder, you can always place the child up for adoption, and abortion can affect a woman mentally and physically. Abortion is important because unborn children are having their lives taken from them. Many young teens are having abortions at such a young age. They make a small mistake that can lead to a bigger one. We must teach society to respect young women and we must teach young women about mistakes that can change their
