I not only want them to succeed in subjects but also grow as individuals. I plan to use the progressivism approach in my classroom because I believe that hands on education in a very effective way of learning. It helps students to get a first hand experience to see and feel what it is they are learning. I also think that working with groups in their classroom is very beneficial to students. By interacting with their peers they will learn how to share their ideas, accept others points of view and learn how to develop relationships , which is a very important part of life that will help them to succeed in their careers.
I want to give myself the opportunity to become a teacher, and help students to grow academically and emotionally to become successful in society. That is why it is so important for me to become a teacher at the elementary school level. I think that if smaller children learn in a very positive and enthusiastic way, they will learn more easily and will be more open to different learning tasks in the classroom. I think that a teacher can also help all students to obtain very high self-esteem, growth and integrity. A teacher can become, in certain ways, like a parent and most importantly, a friend.
I feel that problem solving is a well-desired skill for all children to learn because it will help them throughout their whole lives. I believe that John Dewey’s emphasis on a curriculum that is relevant to real-life is a good approach to teaching. If students can take their knowledge of something learned in class and apply it to any life situation that is a great accomplishment. I think that teachers should strive to adapt lessons that are comparable to incidents in reality because it provides for easier perception of the knowledge being taught. I agree with John Dewey’s theory in that the process of inquiry is an efficient method to use to learn commonsense tasks, or even complicated problems.
One of the reasons I want to become an educator is because I want to have a positive influence on a student’s life. I think in today’s society it’s crucial for students to feel like they have a positive role model. I have seen what a large impact teachers have made on their student’s lives. That has made me to want to strive and do the same. Another reason for choosing this profession is that I simply love working with children.
Statement of Educational Goals and Philosophy I think being a teacher is one of the most interesting positions there are because you are able to see children grow and learn from day to day. You are able to help them reach understanding of curriculum that they had never heard of before. Also when you get tied up in all the stresses of life, children help you stay young mentally by their care free child world of play, laughter, and smiles. I love to be around children because they are full of life, comical, unpredictable, and help you to be more positive through life’s twists and turns. I desire to be a teacher so I can help children reach their highest potential and encourage them to keep reaching higher.
Introduction There is something special in making an impact on someone’s life and that is why I am on the road to becoming a teacher. I want to have a positive impact on young children’s lives and by doing so I will be providing experiences to help them learn, grow, and develop appropriately. There are various rewards in teaching; being able to associate and bounce ideas with other teachers, interacting with young children, watching the children learn and develop in new experiences, and becoming a lifelong influence on the children. The biggest reason why I want to become a teacher is; I want to be a positive influence to the lives of young innocent children, and a sense of generativity, in which I will help develop the next generation of leaders. Who would be behind this success? Teachers. When working with children at any age it is best for the student if the teacher really loves what they do... ... middle of paper ... ...s for my child as well. If they grasp the love for school at a young age then the journey of schooling will be much easier for my child and the family. Elementary school teacher; one who provides, is a career I wish to pursue due to the fact I love working with children, teaching others brings me joy, and having influence over the next generation. A few common work activities that one would have to be able to participate would be patience.
Seeing a child after this moment is exceptionally rewarding, because they are typically extremely happy and proud of themselves and that feeling will help them problem solve, build confidence, and face more difficult challenges in the future. Lastly, I want to be a teacher, because education is essential to have in the world we live in today. Getting an education provides people with the skills they need to succeed in life and to achieve their goals. I hope that by becoming a teacher I can help children learn the skill sets that will help them achieve later in life. After my wonderful experience with my silver award project, I have tried to get as much childcare experience as I could to see if this was indeed the right career path for me.
One of the most impactful experiences in one’s life is their education. There is no limit to education which is why I feel having the opportunity to be able to educate students who are at such a young age would be so rewarding. Being an educator comes with the responsibility to help students meet their needs and reach their highest goals. While teaching elementary age students a teacher is preparing their students for the rest of their educational career. Each child is unique in whom they are, it is important to welcome all students into a classroom environment where they feel safe and know they belong.
