Primary Benefits of a College Education It almost seems like every high school graduate goes to college nowadays. But the real question is how many of those students actually graduate college. Being a college student isn’t easy, many students deal with a lot of stress which can negatively affect how he or she will succeed in the classroom. Although the college level is difficult, it can also be beneficial to many students. There are three primary benefits of a college education. The student will develop strong social skills. Many students don’t know how to budget their time effectively in school. For example, in high school students are in a classroom for seven hours of the day. Therefore, it doesn’t give a student a chance to use their time effectively. In college all students will learn how to effectively budget his or her time. For example, if a student has a class at 9 in the morning and that class ends at 10 in the morning, but their next class doesn’t start until 1 o’clock in the afternoon, they will have 3 hours before their next class. Therefore, that student will find a way too effectively use it. Rather than sit on social media or watch television during that time they will, study notes they had just taken in class, they will look over notes for a test later on in the week, and use that time to just study. Throughout high school students don’t have the opportunity to meet student from other countries. But in college many foreign students attend different universities and colleges rather than in high school. One benefit a student will receive from meeting students from all over the world, is a different culture of experience. Meeting someone from a different country is very cool, and you learn many things from that student. For example, my friend goes to West Virginia University, and went to visit him a couple of weekends ago. It turned out that his roommate was a foreign student from Kuwait. Meeting him was probably one of the coolest experiences of my life. For example, we just kept questioning him on everything about his country to the point where we would’ve thought he was annoyed. But to him he said he loves all the attention people give him and loves answering all the questions people have to ask. This will benefit a college student because it will give a student a different input on students from other countries, they can learn other languages from the other student. Which later on in life can be beneficial because you never know what may happen later on in your
Is college worth it? Is college worth the time and energy you invest? This is a question that many students ask themselves as the cost of college rises and jobs are harder to find. As a 27 year, old college student myself I really thought about this question. I had to think back when I first started college at the age of 18 and how I was excited about starting college. I easily got tired of all the work that it took to get the degree so I dropped out. After having my first child and trying to work and take of her and myself with only making minimal wages, barely get by that when I knew college is worth it. A college education is one of the most reliable paths to financial success for students and gives the opportunity
According to the National Center for Education Statistics, some 20.5 million students are expected to attend American colleges and universities, constituting an increase of about 5.2 million since fall 2000. In addition to this increase of incoming college students, the constant question of “why” does as well. You have one side that says yes! They believe that college is the answer to America’s problems, while the other hand, says that college is not necessarily the answer. Although both of these sides seem to be on the opposite spectrum of everything; they both agree on a few common themes. One being that they both desire for America to be greater and that the quality of everyone 's lives to be the best they can possibly be.

College is said to be the gateway to a successful career, and I think no different. One of the main reasons I want a college education is so when I approach an employer they see me and think success. If I was awarded this scholarship money it would completely change things for me; I say this because my family has struggled financially and with this I would be saved from crippling debt in years to come. Another reason a college degree is important to me is because I am striving for financial success so that I do not have to struggle like my parents have.
