A. Introduction-
The book starts off with Tally and Shay getting ready for a party. They since have been transformed into pretties and now live in pretty town. So they get ready for the party. And while at the party Tally is going to be voted into the “crims” which is a word they use for troublemaker. While at the party she notices someone seems to be following her, someone from the special circumstances. Which she then later finds out is Croy a friend she had from the smoke. He lets her know that he has something for her but must search for it. She is living a good life but one day when Zane the leader of the crims asks her about David who she had fallen in love with when she was with the smoke. They also talk about Croy who he also knows. And says that he also was going to escape with the smoke before becoming a pretty but didn’t, and know regretted it. He accompanies Tally to find Croy’s surprise and they face many challenges and difficulties. The surprise that he has for her is accompanied by a letter she wrote to herself before becoming a pretty. The letter says what she was supposed to do to cure herself from the brain lesions. Which makes her forget most of her life before becoming a pretty. She takes a pill and Zane takes one as well. They also will help the crims so they can remember things too. When they stay hungry and drink plenty of coffee the pills work better it makes their mind clearer. The make a hovering skating rink crash hoping that it will alert the smoke that they are now cured. Tally and Zane’s interface rings which are tracking devices are replaced by irremovable cuffs that will monitor and hear everything they say, but Tally covers it up so it won’t record what she says. ... this is betrayal just because she didn’t do it until Croy reminded her about it. Another incident would be when Tally and Zane take the pills they take them to become a normal person and not like the rest of the pretties. “When everyone was beautiful, you could wind up falling in love with the first pretty you kissed” (Westerfeld 21). This quote relates with the theme because it’s saying everyone was the same you could do the same thing as anyone else.
F. Overall Opinion-
I really liked this book. Especially after reading the first book it has a good ending and makes you want to read more. It was a very exciting book to read. I would recommend the book to anyone. The book has a lot of twists to it especially at the end which makes it even better, and I can’t wait to read the next book.

I found the book to be easy, exciting reading because the story line was very realistic and easily relatable. This book flowed for me to a point when, at times, it was difficult to put down. Several scenes pleasantly caught me off guard and some were extremely hilarious, namely, the visit to Martha Oldcrow. I found myself really fond of the char...
Fans of the novel found that the way the novel is written, you never want to put it down and the action keeps things moving and is quite entertaining. The novel pulls you in and makes you love each of the main characters in it. This is a great series for anyone to read, and it is audience friendly for whoever reads them. There is quite a bit of suspense that will make the novel exceed readers 's expectations, and the twists and turns keeps you guessing and lets nothing be predictable. Some like the way this group of people bands together when they really need to and keep things together so they can all stop the
This book is a very interesting read, if you have some self discipline. I mean that you need some self discipline because this book didn’t really captivate me in the sense that I couldn’t put it down. But after reading it for a while, I started to appreciate the author’s way of describing the characters and actions in this book.
I would recommend this book to a friend because this book is a great book all around. This book has good suspense even though it might seem like a kids book.
Pretties was about a girl named Tally who has finally turned pretty. At first she thought that was she wanted, until she rediscovered the truth of becoming pretty. In the first book Tally met David, whose parents knew that truth. And that truth was horrible. Becoming pretty had its disadvantages. When you got the operation to turn you pretty, the doctors gave you lesions in your brain, stopping you from remembering certain things from when you were an ugly. The specials especially wanted Tally to have the lesions because she knew the truth, which she wasn't supposed to know. She had also been to a secret place called the Smoke, which was destroyed in the first book. But, after Tally kisses a guy named Zane, she starts to remember. Zane had started remembering long before that and suspects that something is wrong with the pretties, but is not really sure. Since both of them were slowly remembering they decided to try and save themselves.
I would recommend this novel to anyone who enjoys historical fiction books where the characters learn life-altering lessons. I also feel that people of all ages would enjoy this book because it’s messages and theme was very positive. While I did enjoy this book, I think I will not be reading another historical fiction novel for my upcoming book response.
I would definitely recommend this book for a friend to read! I really liked this books cause it has lots of action in it and when there isn’t any action happening, it’s just building up to some more action. I also liked this book because you really get to know the characters and everything is very detailed, especially the war scenes. The most important reason I like this book has to be because of all the action.
I thoroughly enjoyed this novel and believe it to be one of the best books I have ever read. It was extremely well written and challenging for me to understand at times. It conveys that dark side of human ambition very well, and it has given me much to think about.
I thoroughly enjoyed reading this novel because it connected the dots on how the Narnia series started. I would definitely choose another book by this author because he makes fictional stories that you cans apply to biblical aspects. I liked the fact that the story connected with the others in the series. I did not like how some spots in the plot were dry and not pertaining to the story. I would recommend this novel to anyone who is a fan of the Narnia series.
All in all, this novel is a good read, so long as the reader takes the time to think about everything that goes into it.
The good points about the book were that it always left you hanging. At the end of every page it left you wondering about what will happen on the next page. It had a very good story if you like the kind of story it is.
have chosen it for my report. Finally, I will give my reactions to the novel
This was a great book, but took me a lot longer to finish then most, simply because of how upsetting some of the things talked about are. If you’re look for a book that will make you think, and bring tears to you’re eyes, and teach you a thing or two a highly recommend this book, and might actually read it again myself. Hopeful my eyes can stay dry this time.
My overall opinion of this book is good I really liked it and recommend it to anyone. It is a good book to read and it keep you interested throughout the whole book.
series for two reasons. The first reason is because it ties up all the questions I had from the other books. This book really was a good ending, for me at least. And the second reason is because it’s just a great book. It has mystery, suspense, humor, action and many more things that keep you from putting the book down. On a scale of one to ten I would rate this ten and it is also my number one favorite book (so far).
