The Prentice Hall’s Self-Assessment Online (2008) test gave me the opportunity to get a clearer understanding of my personality. It allowed me to see the areas of my INFJ personality type where I am strong in as well as the areas where I am weak in. I learned that I need to be more assertive and less anxious when it comes to communicating with others. I learned that I must take the initial in opening the conversation when my co-workers or subordinates or team members may be somewhat reluctant to open up. According to Prentice Hall’s Self-Assessment Online (SAL) contemplative, creative, reflective, and introspective are characteristics of the INFJ personality type. The contemplative trait in my INFJ personality is very evitable because I am very thoughtful and considerate when it come to my co-workers, my subordinates and whomever I may come into contact with at home, at the workplace and in the community. In regards to the creative aspect of my INFJ, I strive for creativity in most anything I do, I prefer originality over reproduce. The reflective trait in my INFJ personality type can be seen in the way I prefer to indulge myself into getting the job done. In regards to the introspective trait of my INFJ personality type is how I am thoughtful of how a change in policy or a change in regulations may affect my subordinates and co-workers. My locus of control reveal that I am comfortable being in control internally and externally as a leader. I do not mind delegating certain duties to others, however, only after I am assured that they can do them. The Prentice Hall’s SAL (2008) personality test reveal that I have a high level of self-esteem and that I am comfortable about who I am as a individual, According to the Prentice’s Hall’s SAL (2008) I am a “hard core type B”, described as being patient and lack the need for
INFJ (Introvert, Intuition, Feelings, Judgment) personality style, a person with this combination of letters will provide a basis for easy determination such an individual being an introvert (I) who relies on intuition (N), feelings (F) and makes judgments (J). Such an individual is an introvert who uses intuition, feelings and has his life oriented in an orderly manner. This kind of personality type is not common, only 1% of the population have it. These kind of individuals who possess this personality combination have an inborn sense of idealism and morality despite this the can remarkably leave a mark on the world. The judging aspect is their great personality trait as it is the main reason they are set apart. They make serious steps towards reaching and realizing their goals, which makes lasing positive impact. An individual with INFJ can be quiet spoken, work and fight tireless for an idea, use love and compassion in their
Having completed the Myers-Briggs Personality Test previously, I was identified as an INTP, which stands for introverted, intuitive, thinking, and perceiving. Accordingly, this personality is often labeled as “The Architect” or “The Logician.” Despite my previous results, I repeated the test as instructed in the assignment. Consequently, based on the outcome of the test, my personality has altered in the past year. Thus, my updated results based on this analysis were, INTJ (introverted, intuitive, thinking, and judging). However, the two personalities are similar, as only one trait seems to have varied. Therefore, instead of holding a characteristic grounded in perception, it would appear that I am inclined to mannerisms that indicate
By being an INTP, I have interpreted why some things work in my favor. Being a perceiver allows me to embrace change while keeping any ill-thoughts (regarding changes I do not agree with) to myself. This personality blend, also, allows me to participate in group settings when brainstorming is needed, and having a lower preference in introversion grants me just enough patience to play along with the extroverts to complete the task. When putting two letters together, I have better understood my temperament. “Temperament arises from the regulation of arousal and emotion reliably producing characteristic, habitual responses to experience”, and mine is Intuitive Thinking (NT), so I create many options in my head (Blandin, K., February 2013, para. 4). On the other hand, my personality leads me to situations where I make irrational decisions because I’m not granted enough time to think everything through. As viewed in the presentation, “Lesson 1-Worldview perspective on organizational behavior”, understanding my personality typology, others’ typology, and organizational behavior will allow the workplace to be more efficient because we have a better understanding of ourselves and how we can work together. I’m now able to function in the team because I understand what I offer, how it is useful, and my obligation to the group (Fischer, K. slide
Overall, the INTJ type is an accurate description of my personality. I concur with the assessments that INTJ’s do not “take criticism personally” and they are not “afraid of hard work, and will put forth a great deal of effort towards something that they are interested in” (INTJ Personal Growth, 2014). I am confident in my own abilities and take no offense at work if others are able to show me a better/easier way of performing a task (as long I am approached professionally). Additionally, I am usually whole-heartedly committed toward efforts when I see the importance or benefit from such actions. For example, if I need to put in a few 15-16 hours days to ensure the job is done on-time and correctly I will do so without much thought. My temperament of “NT” also known as the “Rationals” is consistent with what I see in myself (The Four Temperaments, 2014). As stated in the Thinking section however, I do have a tendency to show empathy towards others when faced with an emotional
The Kiersey Temperament Test shows that I am of an ISJF personality which is characterized by an introvert with a reflective communication style. As an introvert, I have many disciplines capabilities that include perfectionism and procrastination. As a reflective communication stylist, I admire orderliness and naturally appear formal and stiff. No one way of communication is the best so I hope to modify some of my ISJF traits to enable me be more versatile when dealing with any situation especially during
For this project; I will be discussing the findings of my personality type. According to “Jung’s Personality Test”, I am an ENTJ. Various sources point to this type as;” The Executive.” The research I have done has brought tremendous insight into; who I am as a person, the functions of my thinking process and how to utilize my strengths to be more of an efficient/successful person. I also learned about the various careers the best suit my personality type which; helps me when It comes to job seeking after graduation. It is very important to know yourself and see how you can maximize on your God given potential. For that reason, I am very glad I took the personality test and studied this subject manner. I would advise everybody to do the same,
However, first and most important to identify and study my own personal preferences. Kroeger (2002) said “the whole process starts with understanding yourself” (Kroeger, 2002). He then goes on to describe INTJs as self confident, balanced, intelligent, independent, and competent (Kroeger, 2002). Typology has helped me to recognize the strengths of my personality but also the weaknesses. INTJs can lack in interpersonal skills, communication, asking for help, and teaching. They can sometimes come off as controlling and arrogant. For example, we recently put in new machinery at work which required each of us to have additional training. As a INTJ, I welcomed the change and quickly adapted the new technology. However, it was hard for me to be sensitive to the needs of other coworkers who did not understand the new technology and training and needed more time to
The bases of this paper will be based on the results that I had obtained when I took the Myers-Briggs personality test. The results that I had obtained was that I was determined to be an ENFJ. I will go into depth about letter and how each represents that a specific aspect of my personality. The results that I had received were not what I had expected, but the more I read about the trait the more I realized how it suited me. I will also talk about the information that I had found useful from the book, Type Talk at Work: How the 16 Personalities Types Determine Your Success on the Job by Otto Kroeger, which gave me insight on how to interact with other personality types especially in the work environment. The information that I absorbed from the personality test and from the book will go into use in my personal and work life so that both environments will be cohesive and peaceful.
This paper researches the typical traits of the INTJ personality type according to the Myers–Briggs Type Indicator. Additionally, I will be discussing the opposite personality of INTJ, type ESFP. I will detail two past experiences where my INTJ personality posed problems. This paper will also explore strategies that may benefit the INTJ personality type, myself included.
After taking the online personality test I learned that I am an INTJ personality. Consequently, this was not a big surprise for me because I had already taken a similar test in my psychology class and ended up with the same result. I did not learn how accurate the test was the first time since I did not do further analysis on the exact meaning of my personality type. The 16 personality type’s website de...
This paper is designed to discuss descriptions of my personality type. The specific type will be broken into a four letter type, as well as my two-letter temperament. Various personality types can be reasons why certain behaviors or outlooks take place in the working environment. It can also have an effect on your relationships and personal development. The Jung Typology Test gives you questions that will determine what your personality type is. By studying the results, you can become a better coworker, employee, and manager. There are also weaknesses that each personality type has. These weaknesses are determined from the answers given during the personality test. Needs work
My results said that I have an ISFJ personality. My scores were introvert (56%), Sensing (31%), Feeling (16%), and Judging (44%). The assessment stated that ISFJs frequently find themselves in occupations that either involves a lot of dealings with other people and require thoroughness and persistence. They work in organizations of various sizes and industries, where as a rule they work with people. Very often ISFJs recognize their potential in healthcare (nurse, patient care, and medical services, as well as administrative jobs) and several community care organizations. I do agree with some of the Jung Typology Seal assessments. I agree with being an introvert since I am a person that is reserved and to myself half of the time, but, on the other hand, I do like to serve others. I do not agree that I am overworked. If I get to the point to where I feel overworked, I will go to my boss and discuss the matter, so that I can get help with my work before resulting in some of extent psychosomatic illnesses. I agree with the part about working best with a small group or one-on-one situation. I also agree with the traditional careers for ISFJs attitude that include: teaching, social work, most religious work, nursing, clerical and secretarial work of any kind, and some
After the self-assessment, now I feel confident about my qualities and how I need to deal with people with different personality having very differently thinking and how we can come to a common solution of any problem.
I am an ISTJ with unique personality strengths and weaknesses. My strengthens are being hardworking, productive, efficient, and driven (Kroeger, Thuesen, & Rutledge, 2002, p. 306). In opposition, being compulsive, inexpressive, and driven by routines are my weaknesses (Kroeger et al, 2002, pp. 308-309). The Prentice Hall Self-Assessment increased awareness of more personality strengths and weaknesses for my consideration.
According to the study of this course, I have learned many useful management skills and I feel like these skills will be applied to my future career development. When working on the self- assessment tests, I found myself fall into the category of the ISTJ personality types, which as illustrated by Myers Briggs, is the type of personality that is conscientious, considerate, and helpful. Personality traits such as honest, dutiful, practical and responsible are my strengths; personality traits such as stubborn, insensitive and poor communication skill are my weaknesses. Related to the knowledge I have learned in the course I believe both strengths and weakness will have influence to my future career development. In this reflection paper, I will demonstrate the strengths and weaknesses that may place the most influence on my way of success.
