Preferred Administrative Practice
Both the Competing Values Framework and the P-O-L-C Framework provide us with an overview for the need to take into consideration the four major principles of management; planning, organizing, leading, and controlling. (Appendix A-C). Each administrative practice role should be represented in a sound functioning organization. As with most approaches in life one will resonate with an individual and others will be of little interest within the dimension of social work practice, for me this is true as leadership or mentoring resonate strongly with me while management also known as controlling repels me.

Empowerment theory recognizes that each individual has contributions to make the social service agency run their day to day operations with motivated and happy staff. This theory management can be found in its theories, one such being the Systems theory, which acknowledges that multiple parts of an organization are required for its success. Organizational Value
The value of administrative practice role of management can be found in its theories, one such being the Systems theory, which acknowledges that multiple parts of an organization are required for the success of social value to the community it serves. This theory ascertains the principles of required resources and skills to maintain the outcomes set by the agency, yet, not always visible to the front line staff as they are emotionally involved with the objectives.
Cultural Lens
This administrative practice of management focuses on productivity and profit, conflicting with the social worker-client relationship of built upon reciprocal trust, it is not a perceivable product. I believe this is a direct result from “trained as clinicians and don’t have a clue about being political and all of the other skills that you need to be a successful executive” (Jones, 2007, p. 22).
