Poverty is known as the state of being extremely poor. Many people think that the days of extreme poverty have come and gone, but the real reality is that poverty is still a major issue. Jacob Riis noticed an extreme issue with housing conditions back in late 1800’s and unfortunately these kind of issues have not left our cities. Most people know of the struggles Detroit, Michigan has been going through since the steel industry left, however Milwaukee has been dealing with its own hardships of poverty..
