Who was more Crazed: Stalin or Hitler?
The obviously more crazed man was Joseph Stalin. Stalin was more crazed because over his time and rule, he killed millions upon millions more people that Hitler. Joseph Stalin is also more crazed because he did not kill other people he was racist against, but simply because he wanted to kill. The book Hitler and Stalin: Parallel Lives, states " Adolf Hitler's actions can not even be compared to the monstrous actions of Joseph Stalin". The author of this book points out another interesting fact. Alan Bullock states "If Hitler would have ruled in power as long as Stalin, there may have been somewhat of a kill ratio comparison between the two".
Hitler's first and foremost task as dictator of Germany was cleanse Germany of all other inferior races. This was a very bad move on Hitler's part, and that he should have never gone through with it. The author rightfully states that Hitler had many physiological problems, and hated the Jews for one reason, and you will find that in the following quote by an anonymous author "When I now broached the question of what the source of his so strongly felt hatred for the Jews was, and why he wanted to destroy this so undeniably intelligent race - a race to which the Germans and all other Aryan's, if not the entire world, owed an incalculable debt in virtually all field of art and knowledge, research and economics”.
Unlike Stalin, Hitler actually helped the economy. Hitler did good with the Volkswagen. Hitler was a power hungry man. Hitler was a more peaceful man compared to Stalin. He didn’t kill his own, family, and until the end, kept the economy strong.
What Hitler wanted to accomplish was virtually impossible. His goal of making an entire race extinct was obsolete, but he did not seem to think that. Hitler tried to carry out his goal, and in a way succeeded in the almost impossible. In a quote from an article it states that “Hitler overcame the near impossible, through propaganda”. This quote also brings up another point, and that was that Hitler was an expert at propaganda. Hitler and Stalin both used propaganda to its fullest, through billboards, and on radio broadcasts. The obvious better of the two was Hitler.

...worthiness adds up to make him the more terrible. The main reason Stalin was chosen was because of the outrageous amount of killings. Hitler's killings were minor compared to the twenty to sixty two million people Stalin killed in his lifetime. Stalin cannot be compared to any other political figure. Joseph Stalin was a one of a kind, and it was the one of a kind you did not want. No other political figure in history has killed this many people in his political reign, or for that matter, used fear to win his elections.
As ruler of the Red Army, he did not feed his soldiers, and sis not take care of them. People in Stalin's country had to fend for themselves. If asked the question, who was worse: Stalin or Hitler to any average person of average knowledge, one would assume Hitler was worse. This situation was common because Joseph Stalin burned most of the history on his life, and his plans. In the beginning, to me, Hitler was worse too, but after reading what I have read about this monstrous man, I know for a fact Stalin was worse, and he will always be in my eyes. I hope my paper has well informed the reader of who was obviously the more crazed man.
Did you know that even though Hitler had brown hair and blue eyes, his idea of a superior race was those with blond hair and blue eyes? He wanted this group of people to be superior to all other races because they represented a clean view of Germany. Hitler used his power to achieve this goal by enforcing many rules and creating many different projects. He wanted the people of Germany to believe that they were superior to all other races and they must do everything to maintain the standards of living in Nazi Germany. Adolf Hitler and his Nazis created the perfect race by influencing the education of children and creating bride schools, the Hitler Youth Program, and Lebensborn birthing homes.
Hitler wanted a pure nation and he thought he could get that by having only the Aryan race in Germany (“Background”). The people of Germany, seeing their economic problems start to get better, ignored the discrimination and let the Nazis put their plan into action. Hitler had one goal and that was to kill every single Jew in Europe (Haugen and Musser). After capturing towns, cities, and countries, Hitler would take all the Jews and put them into concentration camps (Haugen and Musser). Some camps were designed purely to kill every single Jew that was sent there, while some were labor camps.
For most people that know who Joseph Stalin was, they can agree on one thing: Stalin was one of the most brutal and ruthless leaders that mankind has ever seen. He is known as the instigator and leader of the Reign of Terror, which incorporated extremely horrifying purges. These purges have been estimated to have killed five times as many people as the Holocaust. The purges also helped him establish his power base, which allowed him to build one of the most powerful countries in its day and age. But he was not born evil, in fact, when he was a child, family and friends said he was shy. This does not mean he didn’t have a bad childhood, which happened quite often in rural Georgia. The pain of his childhood built as the years went by. Growing up admiring people like Karl Marx, Machiavelli, and Ivan the Terrible only stoked the fire even more. I believe that Joseph Stalin’s reign of terror can be traced directly back to his brutal childhood and complete belief in Marxist principles.
Hitler realizes he must eliminate the Jews because they control the press, and the only way that the Nazis can gain support is through the press. Hitler then goes into detail about how great the Aryan nation is and how belittled the Jews are. Hitler writes about the Jews, “The Jew remains united only if forced by a common danger or is attracted by a common booty…If the Jews were alone in this world, they would suffocate as much in dirt and filth, as they would carry on a detestable struggle to chat and to ruin each other…” (Mein Kampf, Page 416.) From this passage Hitler truly believes that the Jews have no place on this earth and that they serve no purpose in helping humankind advance. Through his writings in Mein Kampf Hitler was able to create a following that believed
Vladimir Lenin and Joseph Stalin were similar in what they claimed to be, but in actuality they were very different people. Although Stalin claimed that he followed Leninism, the philosophy that Lenin developed from Marxism, he often distorted it to follow what he wanted to do. While Lenin wanted to make a unified society without classes, with production in the hands of the people, while Stalin wanted to make Russia into a modern industrial powerhouse by using the government to control production. Lenin accomplished his goals through violence, because he thought achieving Communist revolution was worth using violence, with a ‘The ends justify the means’ mentality. Stalin also used violence to accomplish his goals, however Stalin used much more violence than was often necessary to accomplish his goals. Stalin continued even once he was successful in accomplishing those goals, as he did not stop hurting people, but if anything it gave him more power to hurt people even more. But, at the end of the day, although Lenin ruled for only a very short time, he did raise the standard of living, though there maintained a large amount of hardship. Stalin, however, transformed the USSR from a peasantry to an industrialized nation in less than a decade, he did it on the backs of his millions of victims, who died because of his harsh policies and many purges.
Adolf Hitler was one of the cruelest rulers this world has ever known. During his reign Hitler caused enormous suffering for the Jews throughout Germany. Many Jewish families were torn apart by the cruelty of the Nazi party. This is one of the most tragic events in the world's history, is known as the Holocaust. Hitler was a very troubled man because he grew upon the hatred of Jews, he also ‘brainwashed’ many people into believing his idea’s, took away all of Jews rights and citizenship, formed the Nazi Parties , and even killed non-Jews.
During World War II alone, Joseph Stalin killed an estimated 20 to 60 million people. Born in the late 1870s, Stalin began his rise to power at 43, and by 45 had betrayed Vladimar Lenin to eventually become the leader of the Soviet Union. Stalin was a cruel man, even killing an artist for not potraying him as he wanted to be. He also made considerable use of the Communist International movement in order to keep other Communist parties pro-Stalin and pro-Soviet. Stalin, today, is seen as one of the most sadistic leaders in the past century, even surpassing Adolf Hitler to some people. Joseph Stalin is the man who turned the Soviet Union from a backward country into a world superpower at unimaginable human cost.
Hitler's main idea was to, as he called it, 'cleanse' Europe of these non-deserving people. Hitler despite having gained anti-Semitic views on his own from things. he saw he was influenced a lot by Neil Darwin. He based a lot of his racial arguments and views on this. However, another point to consider was that the Jews were being used as scapegoats for German problems.
Josef Stalin, a politician from the earliest beginnings of his life, strove to achieve a national sense of power during his reign over the citizens of Russia. Adolf Hitler, however, a born high school dropout somewhat longed for a place in life. He rather fell into his role as a politician, after his brief shortcomings in arts and sciences. These two individuals developed varying ideas to put their controlling minds to work to lead their political parties in the direction of total domination of the state.
It said in "Stalin’s Afterlife" that "Stalin’s policies created a holocaust greater than Hitler’s.", which unbelievably is true. The horror of the crimes Joseph Stalin committed against his own people is appalling. For example, Stalin’s plan for collectivization resulted in the death of twenty million people. The great five-year plan to turn the peasant farmers into one, huge farming community brought on famine, starvation and eventually death to twenty million peasant farmers. Another atrocity that Stalin was responsible for was the forced labor camps known as Gulags. "...the murderous forced labor camps of the Gulag archipelago - victimized tens of millions of innocent men, women, and children for more than 20 years." Millions of people were sent to the Gulag camps from 1939 through 1953, for the crime of doing absolutely nothing. There were "...eight million souls (a conservative estimate) who languished in Soviet concentration camps every year between 1939 and 1953." under the horrible conditions at the Gulags. Every year Stalin, in his paranoia sent millions of people off to their deaths.
But Hitler made it his goal to kill this imperfect race. “Born in Austria,Hitler served in the German army during World War One.” ( The Holocaust) To him the Jews were an inferior race the needed to be eliminated. He thought that by using anti-semitism he would become more popular with the crowd.
Beginning in 1933, Hitler and his Nazi party targeted not only those of the Jewish religion but many other sets. Hitler was motivated by religion and nationalism to eradicate any threats to his state. It was Hitler’s ideology that his Aryan race was superior to any other. Hitler’s goal was to create a “master race” by eliminating the chance for “inferiors” to reproduce. Besides the Jews the other victims of the genocide include the Roma (Gypsies), African-Germans, the mentally disabled, handicapped, Poles, Slavs, Anti-Nazi political parties, Jehovah’s Witnesses, and Homosexuals. In Hitler’s eyes all of these groups needed to be eliminated in order for his master race to be a success.
Hitler had thought that the Jews did not believe in the “right” thing so he tried to eliminate the race. He did not want them to believe in what they did and still do. He thought that the Jewish race was inferior and did not mean anything. The way that Hitler treated the Jews were crimes against humanity and I know that many non Jews saw that but did...
Hitler wanted a “More Perfect Race”, But how did such a troubled man such as himself, make such a “Perfect Race”, He went out his way in the mass murder of over six million Jewish people, and along with eleven million more who didn’t fit the perfect picture. Hitler’s idea of the “Perfect Race” was very simple, with blonde hair and blue eyes. Hitler thought that blond hair and blue eyes meant power and leadership. Hitler thought people with blond hair and blue eyes needed to be all of Germany, so that meant no Jews, Gypsies, and other people could ever fit into this race. But there are many problems with that.
Much like Adolph Hitler, Joseph Stalin was one of the most ruthless and despised people in the recorded history of the world. Stalin though his policies found it fit to abused his people in any way he saw fit. This man started what history now calls "The Great Purges."
