On a typical visit to a restaurant, customers usually have a waiter that provides excellent customer service. The life of a waiter/waitress can be stressful. Waiters work environment are fast-paced and chaotic. Loud conversations, constant movement, accurately relaying the orders to cooks, taking orders and delivering food at a precise pace, and taking payments for multiple tables at the same time can be tense. Because of all the commotion that occur while working, it is important to have a positive attitude. There are many aspects that shape and influence the performance of a waiter. The leadership of the service trainer, satisfaction of the job, and motivation to please customers are few of many important aspects that influence performance. …show more content…

According to Castanheira (2015), benefits arriving from how employees feel about the customer may go beyond engagement and directly relate to job performance. Job performance often correlate with the amount of tips received. For example, good customer service usually result with high tips from customers. While poor customer service result in low tips from customers. Servers who possess great customer service truly care for the happiness and satisfaction for their customers. Castanheira (2015) also states, “Service interactions in which an employee perceives one 's actions as having a positive impact on customers, and also that the positive impact is valued and appreciated by the customer, may be perceived as valuable resources that fulfill employees ' need for esteem and approval”. She pushes me to keep going when I think I can't. Moreover, while the scale might scare people, everytime I find that I have lost weight, that motivates me further. I also like reading and seeing success stories, because that further proves to me that it is possible. Hearing other people talk about their routines and how their health has improved is always a great motivator.
