Florida State University

Florida State University is a great school on a beautiful 456-acre campus in a suburban are. FSU has many things to keep campus life interesting, they have a student -- run newspaper, student -- run radio station, national (Greek letter) and local Fraternities and Sororities, it also has 24 hour security patrols (Choices, 1-2). FSU has seven total libraries with 2,263,257 volumes, 15,511 periodicals, 4,767,120 microfilms, and 43,275 audiovisual titles (Choices, 2). They also have Internet access with a campus-wide computer network (Choices, 2). This all comes together to make an awesome campus.

Florida State University doesn't come free though. Residents get off with a tuition cost of $2,196, but out of state gets stuck with a hefty tuition of $9,184(Choices, 3). On top of that both instate and out of state students have to pay $4,952 for room and board (Choices, 3). College isn't cheap, and then factor in books and any other fees such as Fraternities or Sororities and then it can get to be a lot of money.

FSU is a pretty popular school with an enrollment number of 25,956(Choices, 4). Out of the 25,965 people who enroll 55% are female and 20% are minorities and another 20% are from out of state (Choices, 4). The fact that it's so popular adds to the reason why it's hard to get into FSU. Out of 21,159 applicants only 13,578 get accepted and In order to be accepted SATI and/or ACT tests must be taken and scores of at least a 400-499 on both math and verbal for the SATI test and an 18-23 for the ACT test must be met (Choices, 2-3). Also needed is a 3.0 GPA minimum to get in (Choices, 3). All these requirements factored in set the entrance difficulty level at very difficult (Choices, 2).

FSU's academic program is a fond program; FSU requires 60 semester hours to graduate with an associate degree and 120 to graduate with a bachelor's degree (Choices, 4). There are math and science requirements for all students and senior projects must be done for some majors (Choices, 4). FSU offers many majors including the latest technology majors and pre professional programs (Choices, 6). They offer certificate, transfer associate, bachelors, masters, doctoral, and first professional degrees (Choices, 1). Also for those looking for military service after college they offer Air Force and Army ROTC programs (Choices, 4).
