Portland is located near beautiful, scenic hiking and biking trails. OregonHikers.org, an online community dedicated to hiking and exploring in Oregon, details the many unique hiking opportunities in Portland. This resource offers detailed information on over four-hundred different hiking trails located in the Portland area. Trails range from easy to very difficult and are anywhere from 1 mile to 14 miles (“Semantic Search”). These hiking trails also vary in elevation and allow hikers to remain on flat surfaces or scale mountains. The natural beauty of the Tyron Creek State Natural Area and its unique hiking trails appeal to both community members and tourists. One of the more difficult but popular trails is the Tyron Creek Outer Loop Hike. This trail is 5.7 miles and scales a 630-foot elevation and is located in the Tyron Creek State Natural Area: one of the biggest parks in Portland. The Tyron Creek Outer Loop Hike may be difficult, but it is surrounded by many easier hiking options and is a wonderful area for hiking, biking, and family outings. Portland is normal very cold and rainy. People joke that it is only sunny in Portland a few days out of the year. While that joke is a hyperbole, it does highlight the high-level of cloud coverage and large amount of rain that is in Portland every year. The weather averages around forty degrees in Portland and tends to fall on the windy side most days as well. However, many Portland natives love this weather and find that it adds to the quiet and quirky charm of Portland. Many tourists disagree since people often want to experience clear sky’s and sun when on vacation. Yet, the dreary weather does not deter thousands of tourists from flocking to Portland each year to experience all that this wonderful city had to offer to its residents and visitors. The best time to visit Portland when the weather is warm will be during the summer, Most of Portland’s sunny days, warm weather, and lack of rain occur during the late spring and early summer months. Gatlinburg offers something for many; however, the city has some growing pains such as traffic and limited space. Thus, the city of Gatlinburg offers many things that a traveler could need and want, provided that he or she is willing to overlook the city’s rapid growth.

Following the exploration of the Spanish and French, in the seventeenth and eighteenth centuries, Oregon was mapped by the Lewis and Clark expedition in their search for the Northwest Passage. Starting in the 1830s, many groups of pioneers travelled in their search to the state on the famous Oregon Trail, and the United States began joint settlement of the area with the United Kingdom. In 1846, the border between the United States and British territory that was formally established at the forty-ninth parallel-the part of the territory that was given to Britain would ultimately become part of Canada. Oregon was officially admitted to the Union as a state on February 14, 1859. The mountain was named in 1792 by British Lieutenant William Broughto after a famous naval officer, Alexander Arthur Hood.
This paper will discuss the many unique aspects of Oakland, California. Divided into five major parts, Oakland is a very diverse city. The five major parts include: Downtown Oakland which is located in the heart of the city, East Oakland which consists of the majority of the city, West Oakland, North Oakland, and the Oakland hills where the terrain is quite different from other parts of the city. While many may perceive the population to mainly consist of African Americans and Whites, there is a significant growing population of Latinos, and Asians. The topics covered in this paper will shed light on the city of Oakland itself, and discuss the unique city that it is. I will also give my personal experience and perception on the city, after living there for 16 years of my life.

Weather and climate conditions are one major difference between Key West and Denali National Park. The temperature, or climate, in Key West is almost always hot and has yearly averages from approximately seventy-five to ninety degrees Fahrenheit from January to December. The climate in Denali National Park has yearly temperature averages from approximately nineteen to sixty-seven degrees Fahrenheit from January to December. Key West's highest recorded temperature was ninety-eight degrees in 1997. Alaska is a lot colder and records its lowest temperature at negative thirty-four degrees in 1989. When I traveled to Key West two years ago, I remember that the weather either was bright and beautiful, or rainy with thunderstorms, not much in between. In Pigeon Forge you have nice hot summers and cold snowy winters. It also rains allot, which is nice since I enjoy rainy weather. During the winters, the mountains surrounding Pigeon Forge are capped with snow and in the spring the snow melts and creates beautiful streams which run down the mountain into rivers. These are some of the most beautiful attractions in Pigeon Forge and one of my favorite things to go see when we vacation there. The average January temperatures in Maine range from about 10° F in the northern part of the state to about 24° F along the coast. Average July temperatures range from 62° to 70° F with the southern interior being the warmest and the east coast and north the coolest. However, daytime summer temperatures may reach the lower 90°s F, and temperatures in winter have fallen as low as -48° F in the interior.
Los Angeles was the first product off the assembly line of American urban planning. Turned on in the late 19th century, the city-making machine was fueled by an immense immigration of people who sought to create a new type of city out of the previously quaint pueblo. They also strove to craft the first major city developed primarily by Americans and outside of European archetypes. As a result, Los Angles is not only incredibly diverse, but also nearly impossible to define. Since it is a product of the American machine, understanding the community of Los Angeles becomes vital to understanding the United States. But to fully comprehend the present Los Angeles, one must look at the process that created it. Specifically, Los Angeles was created by upper class Anglo citizens of the 20th century, who strove to materialize their imagined reality of a rural city by establishing a process where affluent citizens fled to the suburbs and left the lower class residents their more urban rundown leftovers. This created world then became the setting for resistance from various groups, such as minorities and youth, who began to undermine the Anglo infrastructure through social interaction.
When you associate anything with New York City it is usually the extraordinary buildings that pierce the sky or the congested sidewalks with people desperate to shop in the famous stores in which celebrities dwell. Even with my short visit there I found myself lost within the Big Apple. The voices of the never-ending attractions call out and envelop you in their awe. The streets are filled with an atmosphere that is like a young child on a shopping spree in a candy store. Although your feet swelter from the continuous walking, you find yourself pressing on with the yearning to discover the 'New York Experience'.
Love it or hate it, buzzing, sweaty, exotic Bangkok is a city that really is larger than life. For some, the frenetic pace, heat, traffic and lack of personal space can be overpowering and are good reasons to pass through the city as quickly as possible but, for many others, the sheer dynamism is intoxicating.
