Dally was always in trouble with the cops; whenever something happens on their side of town the cops always go to Dally. Dally’s parents don’t care about him or what happens to him. In the book Dally is the toughest and one of the oldest members of Pony Boy’s gang. If he has something to say about anything he speaks his mind and doesn’t care what anyone thinks of him. His character is the stereotypical rebellious type; never listens to anyone, never follows the rules and always refuses to accept ordinary standards of behavior He is the most careless character in the novel, which is why; he into fights due to the fact that he runs his mouth and is inconsiderate with his words. However his careless personality is what makes him the most charismatic character in the novel.
One similarity between Dally and Johnny, is that they both have extremely neglectful parents. Throughout the story, Dally never once mentions his mother, which shows how little of a role she plays in her son’s life. Moreover, the only time Dally mentions
Although Johnny and Dally have a fair amount of similarities, they also have many differences. They both have neglectful parents and do not value their lives. However, they have distinctive differences in their philosophies about Ponyboy and their personalities. Despite their differences, they really care about eachother. They are foils but develop a bond with their similarities.
Johnny and Dally have a lot of similarities, they both have abusive parents who are not concerned about them. Dally’s parents do not care
Throughout the book readers are also able to see a few examples of prosocial acts. The altruistic act that readers see, although it is socially considered a negative action, is when Dally helps Johnny and Ponyboy escape from the police, even though it could put him back in prison for being an accomplice. Another example of altruism is seen when Johnny and Ponyboy run into the church to save the children from the fire, even though they could potentially have lost their own lives. Ponyboy’s sense of empathy develops throughout the book in relation to the Socials. At first, he has no empathy for them, believing that their lives are perfect. However, partially due to the influence of Cherry and Randy, he comes to realize that “things are rough all over” (p. 31). It also leads to the end of his dehumanization of the
Johnny and Dally both face abuse at home. Dally sleeps wherever he can, as his house is not a place in which he can stay. In the end I think all these boys showed a very heroic character and you realize what it feels like to be in the face of danger. Even though that Dally and Johnny didn't get to live out their life of a hero. Ponyboy tells their story for them.I think that ponyboy is a hero for doing it. he shows that he's not scared to face the fact that they did something good. And he can always live with his feeling that their story got told this is why I think that the three boys are all heros in their own way.
meaning of being a hero and that a hero can come from anywhere. Ponyboy’s realization doesn’t happen
Dally is a hero in a different way rather than how Johnny and Ponyboy are. He is a hero in a separate definition than I put down. He also helped get the kids out of the building from the outside but he didn’t do anything that could compare to what Ponyboy and Johnny did in that event. Although, in the
A quote I would say that supports my answer is "I was crazy, you know that kid? Crazy for wantin' Johnny to stay outta trouble, for not wantin' him to get hard. If he'd been like me he'd never have been in this mess. If he'd got smart like me he would have never run into that church. That's What you get for helping people."(147) Mainly this describes how much dally cares for Johnny. How if Johnny would have been a little meanier and stronger he wouldn't be dying. "We ran through the lobby and crowded past people into the elevator. Several people yelled at us, I think because we were so racked-up looking, but Dally had nothing on his mind but Johnny." (147) This quote shows he cares for johnny and he doesnt want anything to every happen to him , and right niw he's in a rock in a hard place because he knows whats going to happen to johnny."Tell dally it's worth it.Im just going to miss you guys. Ive been thinking aboit it, that poem, that guy that wrote it, he meant you're gold when your a kid, like green. When you're a kideverythings new, dawn. Its just when you get used to everything that its day. Like the wsy you dig sunsets, pony.

“Talk I nurse into it with two-bit’s switch, don’t you know a rumble unless i’m in it?” (Hinton 144)Dally will do anything to fight which is not good. It seems that Dally finds fighting important, but he doesn’t. He fought in the rumble because of Johnny, he wanted to be a role model for Johnny “It was Dally, he phoned from a booth, he just robbed a grocery store and the cops are after him” (Hinton ) Dally did something that was not smart. He robbed a grocery store and the cops were after him. For this reason, the cop shot him. He could have avoided this happening, but he wasn’t thinking. He wasted his life doing things and events he should not be doing. Dally did stupid things and he supported things and events that are not so important than him as
