When most people think about what is wrong with the environment, they can think of many things wrong with it. The amount of pollution that has either enter the air, land, or the ground. The amount of pollution within the air has been constantly been caused by humans doing a lot of activities that release a lot of carbon emissions. Activities such as deforestation of trees, the uses of automotive cars, and factories producing so much smog on a daily basis. With all of these activities, much of the air quality is poor and can cause many health problems for humans. As stated EPA, “Breathing polluted air can make your eyes and nose burn. It can irritate your throat and make breathing difficult” (EPA 4).

There are many different types of pollution such as air, water, and land. The pollution of our environment is due to garbage. Garbage is improperly disposed into rivers or other water bodies leading to water pollution. Some countries do not have the technology to treat large amounts of water before letting it back into the rivers and ocean. As a kid from a developing country, I noticed a lot of things when I was on the road with my friend visiting neighboring states in India. I found that piles of garbage were placed near the villages. These piles of garbage were producing a liquid that would flow down and infect the only water source of the villagers. When I came back and researched the topic, I found that garbage could also have other negative effects. Dumping the waste materials on the ground could lead to ground poisoning. Ground poisoning occurs when the ground is regularly in contact with poisonous materials, leading to the ground water being polluted and the land losing its fertility, causing great damage to the ecosystem. Loss of fertility in land can lead to drought. The methane gas produce by the decomposing piles of garbage causes air pollution. Hopefully, this letter places some perspective on pollution. It is something to be taken extremely seriously and it may soon destroy our planet if nothing is done. Health is something critical and nature is something humans and animals alike need to survive. The extermination of pollution will assure a healthy and safe life for future generations. ENVIRONMENTAL POLLUTION Efforts to improve the standard of living for humans--through the control of nature and the development of new products--have also resulted in the pollution, or contamination, of the environment. Much of the world's air, water, and land is now partially poisoned by chemical wastes. Some places have become uninhabitable. This pollution exposes people all around the globe to new risks from disease.

Pollution is affecting many individuals and life, as we know it. We need to do something about how it’s affecting our world. That’s why I urge the issue that more people should realize that pollution is an issue that needs to be prevented because of its negative consequences. Which are health affects, the total destruction of environments, and the death of animals and plants. More awareness must be brought up amongst the people and they must realize the long-term benefits it has for the world.

Nowadays environmental pollution plays a very important role in the biggest questions in our everyday life. It is easy to find there is so much trash around us even in our beautiful campus. For example, these days I usually see some cans, wine bottles, and some paper trash like packaging bags in my way to class. I wake up every day with a smiling face, but at the time I see them, I can not smile anymore. I think no one can stand the green trees, the red flowers growing in the sea of the trash.

Factory plants that were built before the 1970s were exempted from the new Clean Air Act standards because there was an expectation that since they were already old they would retire soon.
