Police Issues One of the biggest things in law enforcement today is the accountability of the officers or deputies. People hold law enforcement to a higher standard than normal people because they expect them to be perfect in every aspect of what they do. Some of the major problems that law enforcement faces are Terrorism, Body Worn Cameras, Civil unrest, Criminal prosecution of officers, recruitment and retention and social media. Terrorism is beginning to become a big problem in the United States, local law enforcement agencies are preparing their officers with highly qualified training and necessary equipment to combat the terrorist threats. One of the most effective strategies is having more citizens look out and listen, having information come in from citizens is one of the biggest tips law enforcement can get. But one of the gapped things about body worn cameras is that it shows the truth. In San Diego the body cameras showed that there was a 46.5% decrease in personal body force by officers. A study showed that officers who did not wear the body cameras conducted more “stop-and-frisks” and had more arrests that officers who did not have the cameras. Officers that wore the cameras issued 23.1% more citations for ordinance violations than those who did not have them, along with that 25.2% more officers were more likely to perceive the devices that helped them with interactions. A good thing that came out of the body cameras is that it didn 't change the amount of verbal warnings they gave out. Just because officers have body cameras does not mean they have to change the way they conduct
