America; the first thing that should come to mind is a nation of peace and equality. But America is no longer the land intended by our forefathers. People have and are living in a nation of racism, sexism, and homophobia even though America was created for immigrants to have religious freedom and escape from discrimination. America is now dealing with Health Care issues, Police Brutality, Unfairness in the justice systems and so many other issues. Many would argue that instead of addressing these issues head on, people in government just bicker back and forth, or that the people in the U.S government do not care about our problems just as long as they can pay their way through everything. The first two issues stated are very big in America right now in the years 2013-2015, and will continue to be an open issue until the courts and or the government let out a finally verdict. The main issue with Gun control to people is that they don’t want their guns taken away. The main issues with Police Brutality are the people believing that the police are racist pigs who will shoot just any black man. The issues with Unjust prison sentencing isn’t a big issue at the moment, but it is without hesitation, a big problem. The Second Amendment of the United States Constitution reads: "A well regulated Militia, being necessary to the security of a free State, the right of the people to keep and bear Arms, shall not be infringed.” (Law Cornell)The Founding Fathers understood that the new federal government they were approving might one day become just as very mean as Great Britain had been. If it had the authority to control person (who lawfully lives in a country, state, etc.) access to firearms, then it could take weapons away from them, just as the British tried to do. This would make any tries to restore freedom useless/pointless. The Second Amendment was specifically included in the Bill of Rights to prevent this. 200 years later and the world sees America in an idea-based struggle with gun control fights for trying to change the meaning of the Second Amendment in order to allow for federal restrictions on our right to bear arms. As expected, they completely ignore what the ratifiers of the Constitution and the Second Amendment had to say, because all important historical documents go against them. For example, when the Founders wrote of a "well controlled" group of armed people (who lawfully live in a country, state, etc.), they meant groups of armed people needed to be well controlled through training and drilling in order to be effective
