Planck’s Constant Experiment
IMPLEMENTING
Before I started the experiment, the battery was disconnected with the
circuit because I needed to check that the LED is connected in the
right direction in the circuit. However the apparatus I set up for the
experiment was correct since I followed the diagram and method on the
plan step by step. The circuit worked and there was no accident happen
during the experiment. Before the experiment I prepared a result table
for recording voltages for each different type of LED.
Throughout the experiment I worked carefully by turning off the knob
on the potentiometer every time I had to change the LED or move the
apparatus. Also I left the space around the circuit clear so that I
would not get confused with things that I needed to use and things
that I did not want. The working area was well organised. My
equipments did not get mixed up with others.
Because this experiment does not take long to read out the values of
voltage of each LED, I decided to do 5 repeats for each LED instead of
3 repeats, as I planned.
After I had done all 5 repeats for each LED, I used values of voltage
and current to calculate the resistance. Then I plotted the graph of E
against ƒ to see if there is any anomalous. However I did not have any
anomalous result so I did not need to do any more repeat.
I did not modify my plan procedure since it worked smoothly.

I do not think my results are very reliable as I did not have enough time to carry out many repeats, and so I cannot tell if any of my results are anomalous, meaning that the average of my results is not taking lots of repeats into account and may be seriously influenced by an unnoticed anomalous result.

The experiment I’ll be exploring is the Harry Harlow experiment. Harlow theme of his experiment targeted the ideal of attachment between animal; human and monkeys. The need for and the different types of attachments. Harlow focused on how it affected the brain both negatively and positively based on one’s individual variables and differences. Harlow conducted experiments on baby monkeys to see how their behavior would develop if they didn’t have the influence of a mother monkey. Harlow placed infant monkeys into different crates which held a wire-mother, and a cloth mother. These objects represented the touch of an actual mother monkey. While observing the monkeys behavior Harlow noticed that there were things similar to children such as social withdrawal. Harlow did many tests and in one discovered that the hormone levels in some of the isolated monkeys were much higher than those of the non-separated monkeys. In Correspondence some of the growth hormone levels were less in many of the isolated monkeys and higher in the normal ones.
Similar to how we used water on both sides as a control in the baseline experiments, our first test was with dim light on both sides. To set up the chamber, we put 52 fruit flies in the double-sided chamber and sealed it tightly. Make certain to get at least 20 flies in the experiment for a larger set of data. That is why we put 52 flies in the choice chamber- to get substantial data. Nathaniel Hawthorne was born on July fourth, eighteen o four in Salem, Massachusetts, to a family that had been prominent in the area for a long period of time. “Dr. Heidegger’s Experiment” was written in 1837 by Nathaniel Hawthorne. Nathaniel Hawthorne was not always interested in education, but he went to Bowdoin College in 1821. He would be the only person in his family to ever to go to college. He was prepared by Dr. Benjamin Lynde Oliver for college and the college experience. He really did not care about school or interested in any type of particular type of profession, but still went to collage anyway. He studied most of the classics some including mathematics, philosophy, composition, and natural science. During his college years he met many people, including future president Franklin Pierce. Hawthorne's use of obsession, desire, and experience was established in the theme in the short story “Dr. Heidegger's Experiment”. In the early and mid eighteen thirty's everybody was taking about the fountain of youth and the affects to make you younger it has. The theme to this story was based on this fact. B Watson is a well-known and controversial psychological experiment with the purpose of proving the effects of conditioning in an emotionally healthy child. In this experiment, an infant was conditioned to fear a white rat (which he had no prior phobia of before), by clanging a metal rod loudly every time the rat was presented to the child, making the baby cry and crawl away. This caused further generalizations of fear for the infant, making him scared of things like rabbits, furry dogs, and even Santa Claus. (Hart) Stanley Milgram’s experiment in the way people respond to obedience is one of the most important experiments ever administered. The goal of Milgram’s experiment was to find the desire of the participants to shock a learner in a controlled situation. When the volunteer would be ordered to shock the wrong answers of the victims, Milgram was truly judging and studying how people respond to authority. Milgram discovered something both troubling and awe inspiring about the human race. “Since they were first published in 1963, MIlgram’s sensational findings have been offered as an explanation for mass genocide during the Holocaust and events such as the My Lai Massacre in Vietnam and the torture of prisoners in Abu Ghraib prison”(Perry 223-224). The way Milgram was able to control the experiment shows how the human race can crack under pressure and obey orders, no matter the consequence. Although, not everything was as it seems when it came to the results of the findings. As Milgram used actors to portray the “victims” in the experiment, so no one was truly being tortured.
