Ever since the birth of animation, it has been a work regarded with wonder and inspiration. There has always been something magical about creating life on screen with nothing but someone’s thoughts, ideas, and dreams. That being said, when it comes to animation two big names really stand out: Pixar and DreamWorks. They are absolutely the leaders of the industry today, but the real question is; which studio is better? My argument is that Pixar is a better animation studio than DreamWorks simply for the facts that Pixar’s animations are amazingly detailed and full of life, the characters are memorable, their technology is state of the art, their marketing is years ahead of DreamWorks and the movies themselves are ageless with the rarity of the …show more content…

They use their own animation software called Marionette, and their own rendering software known as RenderMan, which has been Pixar's go to rendering technology for 25 plus years. If you are an adult or a child, no matter how many times you watch Toy Story, Cars, Up or Wall-e, you can always spot a new Easter egg, or something you never noticed before and take it all in. Pixar prides itself on its capability to create memorable scenes in nowhere America, or a comfortable setting on the Great Barrier Reef that feels like home, only to add focus on the films intent. The true success of Pixar within the animation industry is completely obvious compared to DreamWorks. Pixar truly understands that there is no real distinction between an adult’s film or a child’s film, and furthermore the creators make films that they want to see adding to how amazing the final product turns
