The Luncheon of the Boating Party by Pierre-Auguste Renoir, is a very good piece of art. The artist well executed the use of shape and form. At first glance you can already tell what the artist was going for in the piece. A bunch of people under a gazebo, at a table with food, drinks and other objects, it has to be some sort of get together. By the texture of the painting you can tell the get together is outside, maybe even at a dock for boats like it says in the title. From the texture you can also tell what kind of clothes were accessible in the late 1800s. The artist did a good job using value to his advantage.
