Entry level physician assistants earn roughly 83k per year, salary for PA’s can range anywhere from 67k per year to about 110k per year with slight increase in pay according to specialization and experience (Entry-Level Physician Assistant (PA) Salary, n.d.). - According to the AAPA the recertification requirements were updated in 2014. The recertification which used to be every six years is now expanded to every ten years. According to the Physician Assistant speaker, Dr. Larry Collins stated PAs must earn 100 hours of continuing medical education (CME) every two years. The way those hours received is up to the individual. Some ways an individual can obtain those hours is by sitting in classroom or by participate in conferences. A program I plan to join is the American Academy of Physician Assistants (AAPA). By joining the AAPA I will keep up to date to recent clinical issues, have access to peer-reviewed journal and monthly journal published by the AAPA itself.
