Out of Holland’s six personality types: realistic, investigative, artistic, social, Enterprising, and Conventional, my career most suitable for the social personality types because I like to help others by being a Physician Assistant. Growing up in a developing country, I saw people dying due to lack of medication and medical attention. I felt so helpless during my childhood, which motivated me to choose a future in the medical field. Currently, I am majoring in psychology and intern to be a Physician Assistant in the future and help those in need. I think this test assigned me accurately as Introverted because I am a reserved person who is quiet most of the time. In addition, I like to think before speaking because I believe words are one of the most powerful tools, which need to be used properly. This thoughtful calculation process can be beneficial for my careers because I should be careful when I am speaking to a patient. Each words can have thousand meaning therefore, while speaking the word selection requires reflection and careful thinking process. As Physician Assistant I can use Introversion to communicate clearly and effectively with my patient, regardless of their knowledge status. My energy comes from within, which motivates to express my thoughts. As an intuitive person, I have problem solving skills and great desire to implement ideas. In order to achieve a goal in the medical field, I need to understand abstract ideas and respond in a practical way. Furthermore, as a thinker, I get to analyze the pros and cons of a situation and make a logical decision, which is crucial for my future career because doctors should make their decision based on facts. Also, as a judging personality type, I am structured and time oriented, who likes to complete task in a timely manner, which is crucial in my future. I will set out more personalized meeting so the employee gets all the attention and feel like part of the family. Based on ABC model, Affect is an emotional component; therefore, when someone emotionally feel positive about an organization then the attitude toward that organization will also be positive. To keep the Affect theory in mind, I will try to promote positive emotional feeling which can convert to positive attitude. Also, I will try to figure out the reason for lack of commitment, if it is caused by another employee or the political environment of the organization, then I can work toward resolving the issue. In addition, I will indirectly promote the organizational value in a way the employee can feel connected toward the mission of the organization and feel motivated to offer their 100% attention and devotion. If these personalized attention works and the employee shows improvement on their commitment, then I will offer reward that will make them continue to work on that same manner. Also, I want the reward to be something that is valuable to the employee rather than what I think is important.
