Energy is used uselessly when an electronic device is plugged in. This energy that is used is called the phantom load, or standby power. Excessive human activity such as aimless use of electricity like this, as well as unabashed use of other natural resources and various products that deplete the ozone layer is affecting the earth, and ruining the environment. A few simple steps involving the learning theory that can be used to help stop this a public service announcement, using observable learning, reinforcement, by saving money, and praise, and generalization, by associating smaller appliances with any electronic that can be turned off. The long term benefit of learning to unplug electronics that are not in use is curbed usage of resources, as well as a longer sustainability rate of the Earth.

Of the many kinds of ecologically friendly practices known to mankind, the easiest, but least practiced is the habit that can save the most. Electricity is a nonrenewable resource that is used on a daily basis, and used globally. Electricity comes from a variety of resources, everything from wood, to water, to wind. Electrical energy that is distributed to households is often used and abused, and then wasted. Since electricity powers everything known to man, it is used widely, and thus allows for waste. This waste can be easily avoided, and by doing so, can save many different aspects of raw resources, such as water, wood, and oil.
The typical American household is filled with a plethora of electronics ranging from entertainment systems, to computers, to refrigerators. Houses are filled with small appliances and other personal care items that are not used on a daily basis, b...

We are dependent on energy for almost everything in our lives. When the outside temperature rises a little, we immediately switch on the air conditioner to keep our house cool. This is using up of energy. We have starting taking things for granted and we have started wasting energy unnecessarily. Energy is limited and hence to maintain the quality of life, it is important that we use our energy resources wisely. If we do not conserve energy, the energy will exhaust and we will have nothing to use.
Automation is a step beyond mechanization, Automation is the use of control systems and information technologies to reduce the need for human work in production of goods and services. Where mechanization provided human operators with machinery to assist them with the muscular requirements of work, automation greatly decreases the need for human sensory and mental requirements as well. Automation plays an increasingly important role in the world economy and in daily life. Automatic systems are being preferred over manual system. Through this project we have tried to show automatic control of a house as a result of which power is saved to some extent. The Global System for Mobile Communications
Finally, using electronics changes the behavior of people. According to Matt Richtel from, The New York Times, in his article, Attached to Technology and Paying a Price, he shows information that says, “scientists say juggling email, phone calls, and other incoming information can change how people think and behave.” This piece of information from Matt Richtel’s article justifies my claim of having schools participate in “Shut Down Your Screen Week.” For example, when students are at home using their electronics and their parents ask them to do something, they get mad and deny doing it. This can affect students’ behavior around others while using electronics.
The United States, as well as the world, is more and more dependent on electronics. Everything around us runs on electricity; from the cars we drive, our dependency on mobile electronics we use, all the way down to the cappuccino machines that make our favorite beverages. We love our electronics. Last year alone “retail sales of consumer electronics fell just short of $1 trillion in 2011,” reports John Laposky of TWICE magazine, and those sales “are predicted to hit $1.04 trillion in 201...
People today have been over powered with 21st Century technology. Now-a-days people don’t have enough energy just because of the new technology. Let’s go back in time and think about eye-catching inventions in the old times and how it changed the world and everyday life. The telephone! Imagine, a world without smartphones but only speed-dial phones. Yes, those are the kinds of phones that are very popular long ago but the question is “How does the new invention change our daily lives?” For one thing, it would take you about 3-5 minutes just to make a phone call an plus, it is not at all portable. Mainly, telephones back then are way different from telephones today.
Another resource we use to save electricity is simply turn off the lights when you are not using them, which is a huge rule we have to follow in my house and it really does help a lot for something so simple. Another method we use more natural lighting. We try to keep the curtains and blinds open. Letting your house flood with natural light instead can lead to big electricity savings. Unless we need strong, focused light to complete a particular task, we try leaving the lights off during the day and embracing the sun's rays in the rooms you're using. Next Is. The Use candles instead of electric lights a few times a week. We don't wait until a summer thunderstorm knocks out the power to break out the candles. We try to Choose a night or two a week to leave the lights off and light your family's way with sturdy, slow burning candles that cast a fair amount of light. We also try our hardest to reduce waste by doing very simple things that don't affect our everyday life not even by a bit such as, Use cloth bags instead of plastic, we don't use bottled drinks, Reduce your paper usage by simply using email and finally Reusing and Recycling. I’ve only given you some examples we use in my household to help reduce waste and we always strive to
Energy is a daily necessity we take advantage of without fully understanding the consequences of creating it. The electrical energy that we use as consumers comes from power plants that then convert other types of energy to electricity. The most common way this is done is from burning fossil fuels. The only benefits to this method is the low cost and the growing demand for oil, natural gas heating, and other products refined from fossil fuels. The repercussions of this cheap practice is the environmental and physical harm caused by the fumes and other byproducts of using fossil fuels. One main set back of this method is that people may not continue using it forever. Fossil fuels are nonrenewable resources that have come from millions or years
A beautiful commercial, “Disconnect to Connect”, which was made by Thailand DTAC Company, shows that there are many people always focusing on their cell phones. The commercial shows a man ignoring his girlfriend who is walking with him on the beach, another man neglecting his friends who are playing piano, and a father overlooking his children who are playing around. Then, they smile and find the happiness of life after they turn off their digital devices. These things happen constantly around us every day. Nowadays, the functions of digital devices are stronger, and our eyes and fingers contribute more time on it. There is no doubt that the digital devices make our life more convenient and easier because people can connect with each other immediately. Nonetheless, people should not spend too much time on digital devices for three main reasons: having less face-to-face communication, depriving people’s brains of needed downtime, and negatively influencing people’s health.
Unplugging is not something I actively seek out. Growing up in the digital age has forced me to place some dependence on technology in my daily life. If I 'm writing an essay for school, it almost always has to be typed. Research for any class is conducted primarily online. Trying to gather friends together for any event requires multiple apps and group chats. Even personal activities have been transferred to more digital alternatives. Books can now be read from a phone and writing books has become less of a hand written process and more of a typing process. Now writing is 5% talent, 95% not getting distracted by the internet, which is where most people spend whatever shreds of free time they
It was only 50 years ago that we began to have wonderful labor-saving devices to help accomplish all the tasks that collectively constituted the perfect home environment. Sometimes it has the effect of removing all the reasons that everything cannot be done all the time and so results in more work rather than less, but few of us can imagine living without washing machines, vacuum cleaners or dishwashers—or electricity, for that matter.
Household energy conservation is a very practical and realistic approach to conserving energy within our society. US households consume a tremendous amount of natural gas as well as electric energy. It has been calculated that the amount of energy consumed within the US increased exponentially from about 1850 to 1975. If energy continued to increase at this rate, we would be experiencing severe energy shortages in our current society. Luckily, steps towards conservation, including various energy regulations, have curbed that growth somewhat, brining the predicted 160 Qbtu/yr for the year 2000 down to around 93.8 Qbtu/yr by the year 1996. However, household energy usage is still a major issue as households consume about 38% of the total consumed energy and contribute greatly to natural gas consumption and issues such as global warming. Therefore, it is important that people understand how we use energy in the household and what steps can be taken to conserve that energy.
Saving all the wasted energies but the use of energy whenever we can will save us of our hard earned money on other necessitates such as home, food and water. Or else, if most of energies run out, it will make our lives much harder than it already
Electricity has become a basic necessity for most people all over the world. We are depending on electricity for our everyday lives and if one day we did not have electricity we would have difficulty going through the day. I think we need to be more dependent on things that do not use electricity and only use electricity sometimes as a treat so just in case if one day electricity all goes away we could still live comfortably and still have a great life even without it.
As it can be seen that, there is relationship between generate electricity which is one type of our energy and pollution of environment.
As discussed above, it is apparent that people need to know that non-renewable resources are not readily available, and they usually take extended periods before to replenish. Due to this effect, it is crucial to consider using the natural ones as they are always available in the environment. Unlike non-renewable resources, renewable ones cannot be exhausted even if there is a high increase in demand because they are natural sources of energy. Aside from that, making the topic as top priority will create awareness of the effects associated with the use of non-renewable resources thereby turning people to adopt other alternatives that do not cause harm to the environment as well as their wellbeing. Furthermore, this will reduce the rate at which individuals neglect the use of renewable sources of
