Introduction - Should we have zoos for our enjoyment? Zoos are really fascinating because you could get close up to animals that you can’t normally get close to. I say that we should not have zoos because they put animals in captivity, abusement, and keeping them malnourished everyday for our enjoyment. There are many organizations debating on whether we should have zoos. They put animals in man-made habitats that are nowhere near the place their species live at. There has been laws to be followed on zoos and many zoos have not been following them which could lead to shut down but they can’t due to education. CAPS and AZA are two big organizations that are debating on whether we should have zoos.

Beginning - AZA ( The Association of Zoos and Aquariums) argues that more than 180 million people attend educational activities in zoos which include more than 50 million students. Advocates of zoos say it’s ok to let children up close to animals because it could inspire them to take action and save these animals. It is wrong to put animals in captivity for our enjoyment and the animals can’t do anything about it. Animals born in captivity are rarely re-released back into their natural habitats. An example is the Red Wolf in Southern Eastern United States nearly went extinct and so they started a survival plan to save the animal starting with 14 Wolves. People had started to put animals in zoos since ancient times making them think zoos are not going to be leaving any time soon. Not just animals are suffering but humans as well.
