Looking at how times used to be in the past we didn’t rely so heavily on having money , but hardwork and making an honest living benefitted a person well enough. In the early 1900’s the first e... ... middle of paper ... ...der this to be their dream because they got the leisure to do as they please. While a person would consider just having enough money to pay bill, a roof over their heads, and food their goals the dream is way different. Todays American citizen would consider their dream to have; beautiful children, their own home, and financial stability. If you don’t have those three things most people would not be able to survive.
Everyone is out doing what ever they can to make good money with less work. Ever receive those emails or phones that guarantee you to make millions of dollars from home, and have all the free time you want? Well that is the dream of the American dream. The American dream to me is being able to maintain a nice home, with a great family, with more free time on my hands that time spent at an office. With a nice chunk of change in my pocket.
A stable income gives people peace of mind and enables them to plan better and save money. A middle class family who can manage finances wisely can do very well at creating a comfortable and enjoyable life for themselves. A disadvantage that I see with middle class is that we will probably never stop working. It would be great not to worry about money, but as far as I am concerned, I don’t work just to earn money, I work because I feel like I am contributing to our society and certain types of work I find meaningful and
On average a person with a doctorate degree or masters degree will go on about 3 more exotic or overseas vacations than someone with just a high school diploma. More education means more money, more money means more fun and altogether means more happiness. College is worth the debt because in the end you will have so much to show for it, money, education and happiness. You won 't even be worried about the money you owe because you will be able to pay it off at any time. You will be able to show your kids a better life and help them strive for a higher education too.
My American Dream would include a good job and lots of money, spare time for my family and I, and most importantly, healthiness. First, money is very important in my American Dream for obvious reasons. Money gets you food. Money gets you shelter. Money gets you nice things.
The work ethic was stronger because there was personal pride in working hard for a days pay and saving the money to build a better life for themselves and family. This included living in a free country, getting a job, marrying your sweetheart, raising a family, buying a car, sending your kids to college, buying a house, and saving for retirement. I think some value is lost with the realization and the accomplishment of earning wages which is recognized when you actually hand your paycheck to a bank teller. So many Americans have direct deposit these days. The convenience and safety are benefits but the understanding of what it means to earn the money and see it grow is lost these days.
I’m willingly ready to work hard to be a success in life and build a good life for me and my family. There are people who say that American Dream isn’t for them because they got no time and money for dreams. But I grew up watching my dad saving money for the future, so we can use it for the future. Also, my dad gave me a better life than he had when he was growing up. But not taking anything granted he surely gave us a good
Have you ever wanted to own a sky scraping mansion that leaves people breathless upon arrival? Americans are always encouraged to be successful in life, and find a job that will meet all of their potential needs in life. Living the American dream would consist of finding the job of a life time in order to find a perfect home to reside in. A perfect home would be one in which the family can live comfortably in and appreciate coming home to after a long day at work. The American dream is defined as home ownership, however today this is harder due to high loans and interest rates.
Learning and having these skills are important because not one job or career requires only one skill. College gives a long-term goal for high-school... ... middle of paper ... ...er what situation it may be. Time is spent in pursuing a degree, but it is surely not wasted. The fact that graduates receive better salaries and opportunities make the investment completely worth it. With financial help from the government, todays college education is completely affordable to even the poorest of families.
Inequality of Wealth and Income Distribution in America Every American dreams of finding a job that pays well enough so that they may comfortably take care of their loved ones and themselves for years to come. Most Americans hope to find some way to make a living that they enjoy, something that they view as productive. Unfortunately, many do not have this luxury. In our society, a good portion of the population is forced to hold the base of our country in place while hardly being redeemed for their time and effort, and thus the problem of income inequality. Numbers of these people live from paycheck to paycheck, barely getting by, not because they manage their money poorly, but because the value of their time at work is negligible.
