The laws in California have been changing for the past decades, due to the horrific tragedies that have been occurring. In 1994 two new acts were established. One prohibiting specific assault weapons to be sold. The second act enforced a waiting period when purchasing a weapon. On 2012, a new federal law was signed which expanded the locations where gun owners can take firearms to. In September 25, 1791, congress passed the right to bear arms. On December 15, 1791, the second amendment was established. This gives the right to the people to keep and bear arms. Although this is a federal law, this does not prohibit the state to apply any regulations that are needed.
