They blacken your lungs. They cause your body damage. They are life threatening and can kill the lives of other people. Yet, you still reach out for that cigarette. You still reach out for a casualty waiting to happen. Many people think that a small puff is harmless, but it is not and can do much damage to one’s body. When will people realize the harm that they are doing to their bodies and come to their senses? When will people realize that smoking kills lives? I used statistics throughout my paper on why smoking is bad for oneself and why it should be stopped. By doing this I proved the statistics from different sources such as The New York Times, U.S. Department of Health & Human Services, Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, Healthline and Better Health Channel. With these sources I was able to provide statistics on why smoking is harmful to the body, how costly it is and the dangers behind cigarettes. It provides some insight that people may have never known about smoking and how dangerous and harmful it truly is to the body. My anticipation is that smokers who read this message think about what is going into their body and that marketers for this product think about either changing their labels to make them bigger to read and more of a warning or stop selling this product all together because of the harmful risks.
