The Big Debate Do you feel taken advantage of when you go to the movies? Do not worry; many others feel this way too. Many people have debated whether it is alright to bring your own snacks to the movies. I feel that people should be allowed to because you can save money, have more options, and have a bigger quantity of candy. First of all, snacks are way overpriced. Theaters even admit to this. Why should we pay $6 for a candy bar when we can get it for $1 at the local store? Also, they only have a select few of candy. You are restricted to what they have. If you want something different, you should be able to get it. Allergies is another problem. If you are allergic to something and the movie theater does not offer any other options, you should be able to bring your own. Theaters do not take into consideration what the people want. The truth is, movie theaters are making it more about the snacks than the actual movie. It is called a movie theater for a reason. People should be able to relax and enjoy the movie without worrying about the prices. …show more content…

As long as you are cleaning up after yourself and paying for the ticket, there should not be a problem. Also, sneaking in candy isn’t nearly as bad as the people who sneak from movie to movie without paying for a ticket. Sometimes different measures have to be taken to provide. Some people don’t have the money. You might say that they just shouldn’t come , but we shouldn’t put others down and judge them. Also, it wouldn’t matter if they raised the price of the ticket because if they let you bring your own candy then the prices would balance out. As it is now you would pay $6-$9 for a ticket and $13 for candy, which equals out to be $19-$22. If we had a $15 ticket and snacks for $5 it would equal out to be about the same. So, why shouldn’t we be allowed to choose our own
