Without consistent car maintenance, you can't expect your car to run well forever. If you wait until problems occur, you'll probably end up damaging your car and paying a lot more than if you take care of your car on a regular basis. Here are some of the things you should do to help your car last as long as possible.

When going through your car maintenance checklist you should keep these things in mind to keep your car looking and performing well!
Tire Maintenance - Check Tires Each Month
• Clean break dust off regularly so it does not stick onto your wheels - when cleaning tires and wheels, always use professional tire cleaning products. It may cost more but it will always save you from future damages when using household cleaning supplies. …show more content…

There may be mineral build up on the battery contacts and if there is, buy a battery cleaner brush to save some money rather than going to the auto shop. Most batteries do not require a lot maintenance but it is good to know where the battery is and the problems it may face.
• Check spark plugs to see if they are worn out or have accumulated build up - if this is the case your engine is not working efficiently.
Engine and Fluids
Frequently check engine fluids such as oil, coolant, transmission, brake and power steering
Check Oil Levels Monthly
To check the oil, park on level ground and wait until the engine has cooled down after driving then locate the dipstick. Pull it out and wipe it clean, then push it all the way back in until the top of it is seated properly in the dip tube again. Check the level of the oil. If it's between the high and low marks, the oil level is good.
Check Coolants Annually Coolant systems keep the car from overheating and it lies in the radiator. check the coolant wait until your engine is cool the outside should have 'low' and 'high' markings on it and the level of coolant inside should be in between. (Do not take the radiator cap off to check coolant levels. If the coolant system is still hot then it is still under pressure and the pressure release will burn
