Recommended: The problem of teenage pregnancy in high school

High school can be a very interesting and exciting time is a teenager’s life. From pep rallies to prom and doing homework to having a job, a teenager always has something going on in their life. In the midst of all this, some students begin their love life and start a relationship. Depending on how a couple feels, some decide to have an intimate or sexual relationship. Unfortunately, sometimes “accidents” happen, and by accidents, I mean pregnancy. Of course the majority of teenagers are usually very surprised when this happens, and have no idea how they could have become pregnant. On top of being surprised, I am sure that the majority most likely did not use any type of contraceptive either. In 2014, the United States had a birth …show more content…

I propose that the United States Congress shall make it illegal to conceive a child while under the age of eighteen. While this is not something police enforcement can monitor on a daily basis, I have also come up with a consequence for the violation of the new law. Any girl under the age of eighteen that is found pregnant will simply have to have an abortion. Quite honestly, this could actually benefit the teenager. Not one teenager will have to worry about being forced to grow up too fast either because instead, if pregnant, they will be forced to have an abortion and not have to take care of a baby.
4. Also, teenagers will be able to have more time to focus on their relationship, if they are in one, instead of worrying about focusing on a baby. Both sides of the relationship will get more attention, which is always a good thing.
5. While teenagers are still living at home, they will not have to worry about another human living in their house too. Another person in a household means another mouth to feed, which also means spending more money that could be used elsewhere.
6. From all of the time girls will save from not taking care of a baby, they will be guaranteed to graduate high school. Also, this will decrease the number of high school dropouts, which are mainly because of high school pregnancies.
7. Since all of these girls will graduate high school, this means they will be able to go to college without any distractions as well. Also, because they have saved so much money they will be able to pay for college and take out loans that will not leave them in
