Media is persistently bombarding everyone who lives in our modern, technology oriented society with its messages and goals. If one is to observe the key types of media used by Choose MyPlate, they would quickly discover that they achieve their primary focus through the usage of social media (MyPlate 2016). Social media is one of their main sources due to its ability to reach mass quantities of individuals as well as the fact that it is so simple to share and get connected. One of the first outlets of social media that MyPlate uses is Facebook. Through Facebook they have composed multiple pages of information that individuals are able to become a part of and receive information on how to pursue a healthier way of life for their future. MyPlate fails to utilize radio and television, which have the ability to reach a staggeringly large amount of audience members. An exemplar of this may be in the morning if someone is driving to work. They are most likely listening to the radio and thus are exposed to the media messages the play over the air. Though radio and TV ads may not be as prominent, they still would be a noble tool for MyPlate to use in reaching out to individuals. It is imperative if they decide to take this route that they make their ads attention worthy. Asking people to eat healthy on TV with commercials and ads is ideal, but if it fails catch their attention immediately they will most likely disregard it altogether. The same concept applies with radio ads, they need something that the audience can remember and hopefully tell other people about. Most successful radio ads have a jingle or slogan that gets stuck in the audience members heads’. This means that they are doing an efficient job, the message is sticking in the individual 's brain. MyPlate could benefit substantially from a catchy TV commercial or radio ad. They could also incorporate the use of a hashtag in order to relate their commercials back to social media where they receive feedback. TV visual images tend to be the most memorable to the consumers who view
Americans today tend to believe that social media has benefited them to connect with others quickly. Nearly two-thirds of Americans (65%) use social networking sites, up from 7% when Pew Research Center began systematically tracking social media usage in 2005 (Perrin). Have you ever wondered how some athletes have gotten so good at a certain sport? Have you ever thought about what they did in order for them to get this good? For some the answer is simple; workout and train. But for others the answer is different; the use of performance enhancing drugs such as steroids. There are some people that argue that steroids should be legalized and allowed in professional sports. Other people argue that steroids should not be allowed. Today I am going to state my opinion and justify my reason. Steroids should not be allowed in professional sports because it can be very dangerous to the athlete’s health, it is a way to gain and un-fair advantage and it can be dangerous in both social and physical aspects.
Imagine dedicating your life to a university not only on the academic level, but also the athletic level. With a full scholarship your time is dedicated to getting to class on time, finishing assignments, and making it to mandatory practices while also maintaining a strict workout schedule. With your day pretty much full of responsibilities, you do not have the time for a job to pay for anything that you may need outside of tuition, books, and housing. If your car breaks down or you run out of gas you have to pay for that out of your own pocket which is fairly difficult when you do not have an income to cover the costs and if you accept money or free services from any businesses, you could lose you eligibility as a NCAA athlete and lose your
Over the years, the cost of college tuition has been one of the central issues limiting students, like me, from obtaining the best education that one could receive. Usually, this results in students settling for a school nearby rather than being able to have the choice to go to the best one in which they were accepted into, due to such skyrocket prices. Much of this problem or concern has to do with out-of-state tuition being much higher than in-state tuition, sometimes almost doubling the price of in-state tuition! Therefore, students are more pressured to remain in state rather than go to out-of-state schools that may offer a better education.

The ACT test with writing is something that many high school seniors across the country have to take to be accepted into a college. It is meant to test students on what they learned in high school. The test also has an optional writing part that requires students to write an essay at the end. It is meant to test students to see if they are writing on a high enough to do well in college. All students should be required to take the ACT test with writing because it shows whether or not they are on a high enough level for college writing, they can save money by earning scholarships and they will be put in a writing class that is not too difficult for them.
I should receive a passing grade in this class because I can write now. Not just an exaggeration, but after another semester of English I finally feel confident that can write. Three of the reasons behind my confidence is I learned, I experienced and best of all I repeated. These three values helped prepare me for what is in store in English 1302 and here is why.
Modern technology has made information much easier to obtain. The Internet and World Wide Web have given people the ability to access all sorts of information very quickly and quite easily. In this day and age, many individuals simply cannot go without some sort of socialization. Specifically speaking, most participate in online social networking sites. The most popular and used one is commonly known as Facebook. Facebook was created in 2004 by Mark Zuckerberg. By 2007, Facebook had over 21 million users, adding up to 1.6 billion page views every single day. The typical user spends over twenty minutes per day on Facebook and two thirds of the users log in every day at least once. It is not questionable as to why many people have a Facebook account. Facebook is generally efficient, easy for socialization, and not difficult to manage. Most organizations are affiliated with Facebook, as “almost 22,000 organizations had Facebook directories,” as of November 2006. A year after that in 2007, Facebook was named the seventh most popular website (Ellison 1). However, with anything well known, many oppose to using Facebook and hold criticism against the popular network. There are many flaws in the website and the relationships it starts online. Facebook is risking dangerous activities, ignoring privacy laws, and demeaning healthy socialization.
Social media although a great tool can become an addiction ultimately affecting our lives and state of mind. That is why we need to limit the amount of time and information we share on social networks. Although the internet is a tool full of good and bad available to everyone, teenagers and young adults are more prone to falling into the traps of the internet. People also abuse social media and overuse it every day because they are concerned with what is happening every hour. Social media is a tool not a necessity and should never be abused or used as a diary because it could result in unwanted consequences that can hurt us in the future.

Also more than 9 out of 10 American teenagers use social media(Blaszczak). Because of social networking we are becoming more connected than ever before.
