You have heard about it, read about it, and maybe even seen live footage on the news. We ask ourselves some questions about what really is police violence. Is it real or are the citizens finding a reason to blame police because of grieving? Are we even safe anymore? Well the sad news is that the violence is true. The law, which we invest in and trust in, is taking advantage of the power of authority. Police violence must be stopped so that police will not forget who they are serving, not themselves, but the public. Even the criminals have certain rights, civil rights as well. But we always seem to turn on the TV and see some kind of news about an officer beating on someone or killing someone.
In today’s time, we had many police blamed on shooting on young man when they were unharmed. Most of the cases came back that the officers were found not guilty. In the cases that were not …show more content…

In the article “The Legal Murder of Trayvon Martin and New York City Stop-and-Frisk Law: America 's War Against Black Males Rages On” is about a neighborhood watch killing an innocent black boy. In the story, Zimmerman calls 911 and told them that he sees suspicious activity inside the gated community. They instructed him to stay inside his SUV and not approach Trayvon. He ignored the operator and it led to a fight that killed Trayvon. The societies see the African Americans as a threat due to their reputation they build. This case never had anybody arrested and no one was found guilty. Our society needs to protect our community and the public but not to kill a harmless person. It is not only about police violence but racism as well. To stop the police and anyone else from doing harm we need more technology to be put out and for the situation to be taken seriously. Numbers of complaints will go down about officers being racist or killing an innocent
