Kenneth Eode once said, “He didn’t see a man with hopes and dreams, with disappointments and accomplishments. All he saw in front of him was just another nigger.” There is an epidemic of African Americans being murdered, beaten, and violated by police officers who are supposed to serve and protect. According to “www.USAToday.com”, “Nearly two times a week in the United States a white police officer killed a black person during a seven-year period ending in 2012, according to the most recent accounts of justifiable homicides reported to the FBI.” Police brutality is an ongoing problem in the United States. African Americans are constantly being harassed and killed at the hands of police officers. Race should not cause one to be harassed or killed, especially by those who are supposed to serve and protect. Police brutality in black communities need to be addressed because biased racial profiling, unjustifiable shootings, and pointless beatings are unacceptable. Skin color can’t be a reason for police to do whatever they want to the black communities. African American men and women lives are being devoured because of this problem. Police brutality in black communities need to be addressed because biased racial profiling, unjustifiable shootings, and pointless beatings are unacceptable. The proliferation and unacceptability of police brutality against blacks need to be addressed. This problem can be solved by addressing the pervasiveness of these unconscious biases, first by acknowledging them, and secondly by working to reduce them or ameliorate their impact. Black lives
