This will also lead to competition in the workers. Workers will start to realize it’s a dog eat dog world when it comes to keeping your job, meaning the most skilled will end up staying. Giving the ivy to the most skilled workers in the workplace, leaving young people, inexperienced workers out of the running, snatching them the opportunity to learn, to gain the experience they need to move high where they truly want to be. If businesses must pay their minimum wage workers more, they will not be able to afford to hire as many employees as they truly desire. So now the owner still happy because even though the minimum wage has gone up, he is still making money off this specific employer so this worker still has a job. But time continues to pass and it is now 2016, meaning minimum wage is now $10.10 and the owner now has to go back and notices this worker who had been making him a profit of one dollar, no longer is making him a profit. People believe minimum wage will solve all their problems, they will be able to have extra cash to spend on whatever it is they please, will be easier to find a job, will improve our economy. In the end increasing minimum wage to an amount that will no longer want to motivate people to want to go up, to want to acquire those skills to reach their dreams will only end up hurting our economy instead of bettering it. If we set an amount so high tell me who will want to move up in the cycle? Nobody will, people will just settle with what they have and live their rest of their lives that way. Minimum wage has way too many side effects to this chain cycle. Minimum wage is supposed to be making a good by helping low skilled workers find a job, and provide them with the pay and the skills they need, but if minimum wage continues to go up, only the most skilled workers will continue to go up while the low skilled workers will stay down. In the end is minimum wage doing what it was said to do? According to statistic minimum wage was meant to lower poverty, not increase it. People chose not to see reality, get blinded by money actually thinking the government is doing a good by raising up the minimum wage, but what they don’t see is inflation is coming right back up with it.
