"Yes! I 'm 18 I can vote, get married, buy tobacco products, and fight for our country. However, I still can 't drink alcohol." This is one thing a lot of 18 to 20 year olds get upset about. According to Harvard School of Public Health College Alcohol Study, 20% of the alcohol purchased from alcohol stores are consumed by underage drinkers. Therefore, the law really doesn 't really affect the underage drinkers until you get ticket or in trouble for drinking. This being said, I believe that the drinking age should be lowered to 18 years old.

Like they are going out and working, and paying there bills like every other American. Shouldn 't they be allowed the same justice with being allowed to drink?
Do you know that tobacco products kill more people than alcohol? Most people think alcohol is such a big killer but tobacco products kill a lot ,more people per year. According to The World Health Organization, almost 2.5 million people die from alcohol per year, and about 6 million people die from tobacco products each year.
Do you ever get that urge to try something for the first time to see how it taste, feels, or how it works? A lot of teenagers get these thoughts when they are offered alcohol. According to Pacific Institute for Research and Evaluation,16 years old is the average age that teenagers begin to drink. If the drinking age would lower this would lessen the curiosity, because kids wouldn 't feel like rebels doing this "cool" thing. To get rid of curiosity or lessen the curiosity, one way would be to lower the drinking age. Lowering the drinking age would make kids think that drinking isn 't a big deal, and they wont want to be so rebellious than. This would lead to less underage drinkers which would lessen the chances of alcohol poisonings/accidents.
Some people don 't try alcohol until they go to college, and that can be a disaster for that person. Lowering the age could allow these alcohol virgins to consume alcohol, and learn what their limits are. Not knowing your limit can go from a few drinks to a lot of drinks to the emergency room or an underage ticket. The odds of you having a good start to college if your going in a virgin to alcohol are not in your favor. The odds aren 't in your favor because 2/3 of the drinking in college is binge drinking, according to the National Institute on Alcohol Abuse and
