Christ says to take care of those that are less fortunate than us, and this means those that need to be adopted. Matthew 18:5 says whoever receives one such child in my name receives me (ESV). If everyone does what God has called them to do and takes in His children, then He will also accept them into His family. God knows not everyone can do this, but if someone is willing to, then they should be allowed to without any problems. If we adopt others, we are showing what Christ does to us, like the Bible states in Ephesians 1:5, “He predestined us for adoption as sons through Jesus Christ, according to the purpose of his will” (ESV). For America, international adoption is becoming more and more popular, but most of these adoptions that take place are God sent (Hamilton, 1997). America is a very wealthy country, that should be looking for ways to help other children in other countries. Some people of America are starting to see that other children need help, and now are taking action to help these kids. It is becoming more popular because in every case they are not just assigned one kid, but they actually get the choice to pick from about three to five kids before they make their decision (Fulton, 1995). This is making adoption more popular because people are starting to see that they are not just assigned a kid. Most people are not just going to adopt without a God calling first, so people need to start opening their eyes to this because it is something that needs to happen more to help the kids in other countries. International adoption is headed in the right direction and becoming more popular, but there is still plenty of opportunity for improvement, and helping even more kids that are unable to provide for
